Our young adult group is led by an experienced Speech-Language Pathologist and Occupational Therapist and focuses on:

This is a simple activity that can be recreated at home by printing pictures off of the internet or drawing your own. There are many ways to grade this activity from easy to more difficult.
Easy: Replicate an outfit choosing from a field of 2-3 clothing options
Moderate: Replicate an outfit choosing from a larger field with all clothing options
Difficult: Show the child a picture of the completed outfit, then take the image away to see if they can remember what clothing items were used / Give child verbal directions of which items to use and see if they can recall it as they do it

Other ways to use this activity:
-Have the child practice handwriting after they create an outfit (simple: green shoes, blue bow) or (complex: The gingerbread man is wearing a plaid shirt, red pants, and blue mittens).
-Create an obstacle course and use one clothing piece per repetition to keep child’s interest
-Give child a chance to use their own creativity by creating their own clothing combos
-Scatter clothing items around the room to encourage visual scanning skills when looking for a specific clothing item/items
-Tape large gingerbread and clothing pieces to a vertical surface to work on range of motion and upper body strengthening
