May is !

This May, Mental Health America is helping people have more good days by meeting them where they are, supporting them as whole people, and understanding that “good” is subjective.

Let’s have more good days, together.

The York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office proudly partnered with the United States Drug Enforcement Administration for our Drug Take Back Event on Saturday, April 26, 2025.

Thanks to our community, deputies collected 13 bags totaling over 300 pounds of unused, expired, and unwanted medications!

Why it matters:
Drug Take Back events help prevent accidental poisoning, reduce prescription drug misuse, and protect our environment—all while providing a free and anonymous way to safely dispose of medications.

Nationwide impact (2025 totals):
• 4,263 law enforcement participants
• 4,317 collection sites
• 571,054 lbs. (286 tons) collected
• 20+ million lbs. collected all time

Sheriff Montgomery extends a sincere thank you to everyone who participated and supported this important initiative.

Missed this one? No problem! Our next Drug Take Back Event will be held in Fall 2026—we hope to see you there!
