Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center, a Certified Primary Stroke Center, has 145 licensed beds and features the latest healthcare technologies, serving the region with the life-saving capabilities of an ultra-modern medical center. The hospital offers a full range of medical care from emergency heart catheterization to a labor/delivery/recovery/postpartum style of obstetrics care where patients are able to stay in one room. Sentara Williamsburg has received national recognition for its quality care.

Food when you need it. Day or night.

There's a new food locker outside our Emergency Department that's open around the clock. It's there for patients heading home to an empty kitchen or folks who can't get to a food pantry during work hours. Really, it's for anyone who needs it.

Our nurses and ED staff can give access codes to discharged patients, and others in the community can get access through Williamsburg House of Mercy, one of our partners in this effort alongside Williamsburg Health Foundation.

It's private, stocked with healthy food, and always available.

If you're feeling sick with mild to moderate symptoms, you may not need the emergency department — and there are other options that can help you feel better sooner.

How often do you get to see EMS and trauma teams working together inside an OR? 👀 Our trauma team at Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center recently completed its third year of hands-on training with over 90 paramedics and EMTs from across the region. 🚑

Together, they practiced stabilizing injured patients, performing critical interventions in the field, and improving survival outcomes during transport. The goal? Equip EMS teams to deliver life-saving care when every second counts. 💪⏱️

Safety is at the heart of everything we do.

Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center has installed a new weapons detection system at its main hospital entrance to help ensure a safe and healing environment for all patients, visitors, and staff.

The system detects fi****ms, knives, and other weapons and is monitored by trained Sentara security officers. Visitors have already shared positive feedback, noting that the added security brings peace of mind when entering the hospital.

Sentara has now implemented weapons detection at all 17 Emergency Departments and is rolling out similar systems across all 12 hospital main entrances by early 2026.
