🎬🎥 Lights, camera, preceptors! 🎥🎬

Last Friday, our outpatient preceptors took center stage at CHKD’s Outpatient Preceptor Professional Development Day.

Hosted in the Brickhouse Auditorium, this year’s professional development day opened with sessions on navigating tough conversations, building strong team spirit from day one, and embracing the preceptor role with confidence and kindness.

After a well-earned intermission, our outpatient preceptors kept the energy high with “Preceptor Power,” where team members strengthened the skills that help train, motivate, and retain the next generation of pediatric professionals. The day closed with dessert, gratitude from senior leadership, and an enthusiastic round of applause for all who make preceptorship at CHKD truly exceptional. 🎭💙

Thank you to everyone who joined us for this blockbuster day of learning and connection. Until next year… that’s a wrap! 🍿✨

Join us in congratulating Sam Sachs, a CHKD patient ambassador and junior volunteer, on receiving the Governor's Award for Volunteerism & Community Service!

At only 11 years old, Sam turned his battle with leukemia into a powerful mission to support others. In 2021, he founded Sam’s Warriors and has since raised more than $110,000 to help CHKD patients and their families - providing meaningful assistance to over 100 patient families in our community.

Sam continues to volunteer his time, share his story, and lead service projects that inspire hope in others. We are so proud of Sam's dedication to helping others and are honored to be a part of his journey.

Congratulations, Sam, on this well-deserved recognition! ❤️💙💛

Every ounce of care makes a difference for our tiniest fighters.

Today, on World Prematurity Day, we’re celebrating the strength of our NICU babies, their families, and the incredible people who support them.

CHKD’s NICU provides lifesaving care for premature and medically fragile infants. And when a mother’s own milk isn’t available, The King’s Daughters Milk Bank at CHKD helps nourish these infants – as well as babies in NICUs along the East Coast – thanks to the generosity of dedicated milk donors.

It’s the care, expertise, and collaboration behind the scenes that help give premature babies the healthiest possible start. 💜

Today, came together for a special event honoring team members and their loved ones who have served in the military.

The program featured a variety of meaningful performances and demonstrations from our community. Girl Scout Troop 305 presented the Colors and led the Pledge of Allegiance. Vocal Inclusion, a local chorus of children and young adults of varied abilities, performed moving renditions of “American Tears” and “Red, White, and Me.” The National Society of Pershing Angels, Company R-4-5, impressed the crowd with a rifle drill. And The Hurrah Players closed the program with a lively patriotic tap dance.

Team CHKD members also played an important role: Felicia Baker-Davis served as MC, LaVern Morris and Morgan DeCastro shared poetry readings, and Michael Garren led a moment of silence. And of course, a huge thank-you to everyone behind the scenes who made this extraordinary event possible.

Thank you to everyone who attended, and to those who participated in this year’s event! ❤️🤍💙
