If you know Tyson, you already know: this man shows up. With a long, dedicated history of working in substance use treatment, he brings a level of compassion, grit, and experience that changes lives every single day.

He’ll go out of his way to help anyone who needs it — client, coworker, stranger, doesn’t matter. If someone’s struggling, Tyson is already moving.

Around here, he’s also the unofficial office bodyguard and the first to step into any role when things get chaotic. No ego, no hesitation, just heart and action.

💚💚We are super excited to announce our newest team member, right here from Williamsburg, to the SRTKY Team!💚💚

My name is Mahalia S. Cain, M.Ed., LPCA, NCC. I am currently a student at Lindsey Wilson University, pursuing a Doctorate of Philosophy in Counselor Education and Supervision.
I have been teaching as an adjunct professor since August 2024, with experience in Counseling Techniques, Counseling Theories, Substance Abuse, and Abnormal Psychology.
Alongside my academic work, I have developed extensive clinical experience working with individuals impacted by substance use and severe mental illness. I am passionate about serving clients across the lifespan and am excited to work with individuals of all ages and backgrounds.
In my counseling practice, I utilize an integrative approach tailored to each client’s unique needs, with a strong emphasis on cognitive therapy techniques. I strive to create a supportive, collaborative environment where clients feel empowered to grow, heal, and achieve their goals.
I am originally from Williamsburg, Kentucky and I am especially honored to contribute to the growing field of mental health within my hometown community.
I am deeply committed to both learning and professional growth, and I value the opportunity to continuously expand my knowledge and skills in order to better serve my clients.
I am so excited to join the team at Southern Roots Therapeutic Services, LLC.

Brie is the do‑it‑all powerhouse behind the scenes at Southern Roots. From intake coordination to billing, HR support, insurance navigation, scheduling, and about 10 other things we didn’t even know we needed—this role is truly the glue that holds everything together.

Her organization, dedication, problem‑solving, and heart for both our clients and our team do not go unnoticed. We are beyond grateful for the care and consistency she brings into every corner of our practice.
