Why am I opposed to such approaches to weight loss?

Yes, you can lose weight if there is a kcal deficit with such food, BUT:
From a piece of white meat / fish, cereal side dish and salad - the body will receive the necessary nutrients and energy for a long time, but not from fast food.
In terms of calories, two meals may be equal, but in terms of nutritional value, by no means.
Most often, such food is high in calories, so the weight may not go away at all.
