🩺What is an Endometrial Biopsy❓Let’s chat 👇
🔷An endometrial biopsy is a simple medical procedure in which a doctor takes a small sample of tissue from the lining of the uterus (called the endometrium).
This tissue is then examined under a microscope to look for any abnormal cells or conditions.
🔷Why is it done?
An endometrial biopsy helps diagnose causes of:
Abnormal uterine bleeding
Heavy or irregular periods
Bleeding after menopause
Possible infections or inflammation
Conditions like endometrial hyperplasia or endometrial cancer
🔷What to expect during the procedure
It usually takes only a few minutes.
A thin tube is gently passed through the cervix to collect the tissue sample.
You may feel cramping similar to menstrual cramps.
Most people can return to normal activities afterward.
🔷After the biopsy
Mild cramping or spotting is common for a day or two.
Serious complications are rare, but call your doctor if you have heavy bleeding, fever, or severe pain.
