It happens when fluid builds up and gets infected, usually after a cold or flu.

Common signs:
• Ear pain
• Fever

Let’s chat about a contagious but common skin infection…🩺✨

Impetigo 101 🦠

Impetigo is a common, highly contagious skin infection, especially in children, but adults can get it too.

What causes it?
👉 Bacteria (usually Staph or Strep) entering the skin through small cuts, insect bites, or eczema.

What does it look like?
✨ Red sores or blisters
✨ Ooze fluid, then form honey-colored crusts
✨ Usually around the nose, mouth, hands, or legs
Is it contagious?

⚠️ YES — spreads easily through skin-to-skin contact, towels, clothes, or toys.

How is it treated typically?
💊 Antibiotic cream or ointment
💊 Oral antibiotics in more severe cases
⏱️ Starts improving within a few days of treatment

How to prevent it
🧼 Wash hands regularly
🩹 Clean and cover cuts or bites
🚫 Don’t share towels, clothes, or bedding
✂️ Keep nails short to reduce scratching
