Got the Mondays....try this breathwork practice to reset your nervous system and calm your mind.

Inhale from bottom up
Diaphram....Ribs...chest...full inhale

PAUSE

Exhale top down
Chest...Ribs...Diaphram...find the bottom of the exhale.

Repeat at least 7 times for the all the benefits.

This is called 3 Part Breath or Dirga Pranayama
In addition to calming the mind and nervous system, 3 part breath increases you lung capacity and energizes you.

Our weekends at Body Balance Studio offer something for everyone!

Saturday 8AM Vinyasa Flow with Trisha Meacham is an energetic yet graceful practice that leads you through a sequence of poses that strengthens and lengthens the body. Building heat from inside out! 78 degrees.

Saturday 10AM Hot 26 is rotated between Irene and Jenn. This practice is the tried and true 26 classic hot poses intentionally sequence to open the lines of the body. 102-104 degrees

Sunday 8AM - 9:15AM Flow and Restore with Audrey, the 'flow' portion of the class will stretch and strengthen your body helping to increase flexibility while boosting energy levels. The remainder of class will move to the ground and shift to a restorative style of practice using props as necessary to support the body and facilitate deep relaxation. 76 degrees

Sunday 10AM Hot 26 Yoga Series rotates teachers Alexis and Jesse deliver a grounding practice that is open to all levels of experience, but first-timers may want to take it easy as you learn to acclimate to the set sequence in a heated room. Beginners are welcome. 102-104 degrees

Sunday 5PM Candlelight Gentle Yoga with Shomer is the therapeutic consistency you've been looking for in a relaxing environment. A mindful way to end the weekend.

Join classes this month to experience our the pose of the month Warrior 2, or Virabhadrasana II. This is a powerful standing yoga pose that includes strengthening the legs and core, improving stamina and balance, and opening the hips and chest. Modifications can be made by shortening the stance or using a chair for support under the front thigh to ease knee strain.

Proper alignment involves ensuring the front knee is directly over the ankle, the back leg is straight with the outer edge of the foot grounded, the hips are open and facing the side, and the arms are extended in line with the shoulders, parallel to the floor.

At this time of year, we all seem to fall into the slipstream of life. The routines of Autumn start to appear, school buses, pumpkins and the smell of the last heats of summer. The days start to balance out as we all seek to find some grace, while life happens around us.

Stepping into the studio and onto your mat allows you to step away from the changing schedules and busyness of life for personal time. Of course, group yoga classes are mixed with social interaction with fellow passionate breathers and creative movers!

We show up for therapeutic consistency, no matter how bad the day or what world event shook you the mat stays the same, the practice is the same eight limb path. Consider this your encouragement to bring the other lesser discussed limbs into your practice this month.

Turn inward (Pratyhara) as often as you can and bring Dharana (Concentration) and Dhyana (Meditation) into your intentions and asanas. Then at the end of class allow Samadhi or absorption of your practice to happen. These last three to five minutes on your mat is a time to access your timeless awareness to contemplate life.

Our sunrise thread is not for the faint at heart, 6am'er's are organized early risers that want to feel their yoga practice late in the afternoon giving them energy while everyone else wants to drink a latte.

Trisha brings the heat on Fridays with her warm, friendly smile she nurtures you every step of the way to build strength and confidence.

Monday's & Wednesday's HATHA FLOW are all your favorite poses held mindfully for longer periods of time to release heat from the inside out. This practice will offer progressive techniques of breath, posture, and movement to help cleanse, stretch, and strengthen the body as well as focus and calm the mind. A deeper experience of the self becomes possible through this practice. We don't 'heat' the room, but it's kept at a cozy 78-80ยฐ

Friday's Yoga Sculpt

Yoga Sculpt combines traditional yoga poses and principles with strength training using light hand weights. This energetic workout is designed to leave you feeling stronger, refreshed, and uplifted while toning muscles and creating a full body workout. This class is gently heated to 80-82ยฐ
