Hello, Everyone! Please forgive our absence! After some small changes of the program, we are pleased to announce that we will do our best to update regularly and keep everyone informed about the Cumberland River Behavioral Health's Peer Support Program from this point forward.

The first of these new and exciting changes, is that we are now offering our parenting curriculum in individual session, accommodating your busy schedule as much as we can. Can you come twice a week? We can make that happen for you, thus shortening the amount of time it takes to complete our program. We can even do home visits for those that have limited or no transportation to the office.

As always, we offer peer support services, and can make an easy referral to our in-house clinician to assist in your recovery and support.

Peer Support services are offered to those with all five managed care companies through Kentucky Medicaid, and we offer services to those without coverage for a small hourly fee. We do not accept Medicare or private insurance at this time.

Please call (606) 549-5440 for further information.

Now, this picture is kinda funny, especially if you're familiar with Lord Of The Rings. However, anxiety is a very real problem that is very similar to this. Sometimes, people with anxiety cannot control what they worry about and sometimes, they have no idea why they are upset. Try this coping skill the next time you feel anxious: Find something you enjoy looking at and focus your attention on it. Think about what it feels like, smells like, sounds like, etc. There are several techniques called grounding that help you regain control of the anxiety. You can use an internet search to find one that works best for you. Just search : Grounding and anxiety

And as always, if your anxiety is getting the best of you, don't hestitate to speak with a therapist or peer support specialist for help.
