On this Wellness Wednesday, the TPS Way, we want to remind you of something simple but powerful: give people their flowers while they can still smell them.

Life is moving fast. There are heavy things happening all around us. Uncertainty. Loss. Stress. And in the middle of it all, we have to be intentional about celebrating the wins, the milestones, and the moments of joy.

Today, we are celebrating one of our very own. 💍

Miss Siniyah, one of our incredible pharmacy technicians and truly a joy to work alongside every single day, recently said “yes” and is officially a future Mrs. We could not be more excited for her. Watching her light up as she shared her news reminded us how important it is to pause and celebrate the highs.

So we surprised her with flowers, hugs, and lots of smiles.

Because wellness is not just about prescriptions and blood pressure checks. It is also about community. Encouragement. Gratitude. Celebration.

Our encouragement to you today:
Celebrate someone.
Send the text.
Buy the flowers.
Say congratulations.
Speak the kind words out loud.

And do not forget to celebrate yourself too. None of us are promised tomorrow. Not a single thing should be taken for granted.

Congratulations again, Siniyah. We are so happy for you and honored to celebrate this beautiful new chapter with you. 💛

I truly have the best Pharmily in the world.

Today meant so much to me. To be celebrated by the very people I get to do life and work with every single day is something I don’t take lightly.

It’s more than just clocking in together. We genuinely care about one another. We check in. We laugh. We pray. We push each other. We celebrate the highs and stand together in the lows. That bond shows up in the way we serve our patients and in the way we treat each other.

Thank you for the beautiful flowers, the thoughtful gifts, and the effort you all put into making me feel so special today. I felt seen. I felt appreciated. And I felt deeply loved.

It is truly an honor to work alongside each of you. I’m so grateful for this Pharmily we’ve built together.

Love always,
Jade Leah 💚

This past Friday, Dr. Jade L. Ranger attended the 2026 Hampton Roads Go Red for Women Luncheon hosted by the American Heart Association, and it was nothing short of powerful.

This year’s theme, Red Means Go, was a call to action. Go confidently. Go boldly. Go take charge of your heart health.

Far too often, women’s health concerns are dismissed, minimized, or brushed aside. Symptoms get labeled as “stress” or “just anxiety.” Meanwhile, cardiovascular disease remains one of the leading causes of death among women, and too many mothers, sisters, daughters, cousins, and friends are leaving this world far too soon.

The event featured survivors whose stories stopped the room. A woman who survived a heart attack at 24. Another born with a congenital heart defect who underwent surgery at birth. Women who have faced the unthinkable and are still here, still going, still advocating.

Still showing up.

Their message was clear: know the signs. Listen to your body. Speak up. Advocate for yourself.

As we move through this week, let this be your reminder to prioritize your heart health. Schedule the appointment. Monitor your blood pressure. Move your body. Fuel yourself well. Ask questions. Do not ignore the warning signs.

Red means go. Not later. Not someday. Now. ♥️

This past Saturday, we had one of our youngest team members on site, and let’s just say she took her role very seriously. White coat and all.

There is something special about children coming to work with their parents and seeing what community pharmacy really looks like. Not just counting pills, but interacting with patients, building relationships, solving problems, and serving our community in real time.

They get to see that pharmacy is personal. It’s connection. It’s impact.

Whether they’re shredding paper, taking out the trash, organizing baskets, or “supervising” behind the counter, we always try to give them a little cash from the register at the end of the day.

Why?

Because we believe in helping kids connect the dots early. You show up. You put in effort. You contribute. And you are compensated for your work.

Simple lesson. Real life.

Moments like these remind us that independent pharmacy is more than prescriptions. It’s mentorship. It’s modeling work ethic. It’s showing the next generation what it looks like to serve with excellence.

And yes, she clocked out smiling. 😊

Weather Advisory ☃️ | Adjusted Hours Tomorrow

In light of the winter weather and school closures expected in our area tomorrow, The Prescription Shoppe will be operating on abbreviated hours out of an abundance of caution for our staff and patients.

🕰 Tomorrow — Open 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

We want to make sure our team stays safe, especially with kids out of school and unpredictable conditions, but we also want to remain available to provide care for our patients who need us.

Please plan accordingly, and we’ll keep you posted if anything changes.

Thank you for your understanding and continued patience.

Pharm Fridays | Real Pharmacy. Real People. Real Impact.

Some days, the biggest wins happen quietly.

A dosing error caught before it leaves the pharmacy.

An insurance rejection resolved after three phone calls.

A drug interaction identified and corrected.

A patient reassured before anxiety spirals.

Not every impact makes a headline. But every one matters.

This is the work of independent community pharmacy. Steady. Thorough. Committed.

Today we’re thankful for caregivers.

The daughters organizing pillboxes.
The spouses keeping track of appointments.
The family members asking the hard questions.

We see you.

Caring for someone else’s health is not easy. It takes patience, coordination, and strength.

If you’re a caregiver and feel overwhelmed managing medications, please know you don’t have to do it alone. That’s exactly why we’re here.

Community pharmacy supports families, not just patients.

Wellness, the TPS Way | Read the Label Twice

You’d be surprised how many medication issues start with misunderstanding the label.

💊 “Take twice daily” does not always mean morning and night.

💊 “With food” matters more than people think.

💊 “As needed” still has limits.

If you are ever unsure what your directions mean, pause and ask.

Our pharmacists and technicians are here to clarify, explain, and make sure you’re taking your medications the right way.

Proper use is just as important as the prescription itself.

Health Tip Tuesday | Care Beyond the Counter 🩺

Cold and flu season doesn’t stick to one script, and right now, a lot is still going around. From flu and COVID to strep throat and everything in between, knowing what you’re dealing with matters.

Just a reminder: at The Prescription Shoppe, we offer rapid testing, including rapid flu and rapid strep. When appropriate and based on results, our pharmacist can assess your symptoms and prescribe the right therapy so you can begin treatment sooner, without waiting days for answers.

This service helps take the guesswork out of “Is this more than a cold?” and gives patients a convenient, trusted option right here in the pharmacy.

If you’re not feeling well or symptoms seem to be lingering, stop by or give us a call. We’re here to help you get clarity, care, and peace of mind.

Behind the Counter Monday 😆 | Real Pharmacy. Real People. Real Shenanigans.

If you’ve ever wondered what happens behind the counter at The Prescription Shoppe… let’s just say it’s not all serious faces and counting by fives.

Yes, the work we do is serious. Medications matter. Accuracy matters. Our patients matter.

But in between verifying prescriptions and answering phones, there is a steady stream of side-eye, exaggerated facial expressions, playful commentary, and the occasional “Did you really just hand me that like that?” moment. 😅

We genuinely love working together. And when you love your team, even a simple basket exchange can turn into a full production.

The laughs keep us energized. The smiles keep us connected. And that camaraderie? That’s what allows us to show up every single day ready to serve our community with excellence.

We take our responsibility seriously — and we’re grateful we get to do it with people who make the journey enjoyable.♥️

Dedication to optimal patient healthcare, ensuring that our customers lead quality lives is our vision.

Because we know that information is key to positive patient outcomes, we offer healthcare seminars that highlight a number of health conditions and the medications used to treat them.
