💊 Pharm Friday: Advocacy in Action

From meeting with legislators to participating in national conversations that impact healthcare, Drs. Henry and Jade Ranger are committed to advocacy.

At The Prescription Shoppe, our work doesn’t stop at the counter. We’re actively working to protect the future of independent community pharmacy and ensure our patients continue to have access to the care they deserve.

Recently, our founders spoke on how rising tariffs are going to continue to impact drug costs, placing added strain on independent pharmacies and the patients we serve. These are real issues happening in real time, and they require real voices at the table.

📺 If you missed the Rangers on the 11 o’clock news last night, or the segment that aired again this morning, be sure to check it out here:
https://www.13newsnow.com/article/money/economy/tariffs/tariffs-on-imported-drugs-could-strain-local-pharmacies-as-costs-rise/291-a5c8e572-2b54-427e-a9cc-f3f2f15e1622

Advocacy isn’t optional in today’s pharmacy landscape. It’s necessary. And we’re proud to stand in that gap for our patients, our community, and our profession.

New tariffs on imported prescription drugs could double prices, putting pressure on independent pharmacies and risking delays for patients.

💙 Thankful Thursday 💙

Dr. Jade L. Ranger had the opportunity to spend time with students at VCU School of Pharmacy recently, and moments like these are always a reminder of why this work matters.

There’s something powerful about pouring into the next generation. From sharing real-world experiences to having honest conversations about career paths, it was all about opening their eyes to what’s possible, especially within independent community pharmacy.

Because the truth is, community pharmacy is more than just dispensing medications. We are frontline healthcare providers. We are accessible. We are trusted. We are often the first point of care for so many patients.

And in many ways, we are a cornerstone of the communities we serve.

Being able to share that perspective, encourage these future pharmacists, and hopefully spark interest in ownership and community-based practice is something we never take for granted.

This is how we grow the profession. This is how we continue the legacy.

💊 Wellness, the TPS Way Wednesday 💊

Wellness isn’t just about what we do inside the pharmacy. It’s also about how we show up, educate, and pour into the next generation.

Dr. Jade L. Ranger had an amazing time representing The Prescription Shoppe at Hornsby Middle School’s Career Day this past week. From sharing what it means to be a pharmacist to engaging with curious and bright sixth, seventh, and eighth grade students, this is exactly what community care looks like in action.

And of course, the icing on the cake… getting to see her favorite student in the building—her son, Jacob. Now that made the day even more special.

Moments like this remind us that exposure matters. Representation matters. And sometimes all it takes is one conversation to spark a future in healthcare.

This is wellness the TPS way—showing up, giving back, and investing in the future of our community. 💙

TPS Services Spotlight Tuesday | World Health Day🌍

At The Prescription Shoppe, World Health Day is more than just a date on the calendar. It’s a reminder of why we do what we do every single day.

Health is not just about treating illness. It’s about prevention, education, access, and making sure our community has the tools and support needed to live well.

Whether it’s checking your blood pressure, staying up to date on vaccinations, managing chronic conditions, or simply having a conversation about your health, those small steps add up in a big way.

Today, we encourage you to take one intentional step toward better health. Schedule that appointment. Ask that question. Start that routine.

And just know, you don’t have to do it alone. We’re here for you every step of the way.

Because at the end of the day, healthier communities start with informed, supported patients.

💊 Behind the Counter Monday 💊

If you’ve ever spent time at The Prescription Shoppe, you’ve probably noticed that Dr. Henry Ranger is almost always smiling. That’s because he truly loves what he does and the patients he serves.

Whether he’s working at our full-service community pharmacy or behind the scenes in our compounding and long-term care pharmacy, Dr. Ranger brings the same level of care, focus, and dedication to every single patient interaction. For him, it’s never just about filling prescriptions. It’s about building relationships, answering questions, and making sure patients feel supported every step of the way.

Going the extra mile is simply part of who he is. And around here, that kind of care is exactly what we believe pharmacy should look like.

✝️ He is Risen. Happy Easter. ✝️

Today, we celebrate the true meaning of Easter…hope, sacrifice, and the power of resurrection.

It’s a reminder that even in our darkest moments, there is always the promise of new life, new beginnings, and unwavering grace.

At The Prescription Shoppe, we are grateful for the opportunity to serve, to care, and to walk alongside our community not just in health, but in faith and purpose as well.

May this day fill your heart with peace, your home with joy, and your spirit with renewed strength.

He is risen…He is risen indeed. 💙

💊 Pharm Friday 💊

You ever have those days where your team shows up and somehow everybody got the same memo without a single group chat? 😂

Because clearly, when our team members walk in dressed like twins on the same day, completely unplanned, it’s giving one thing: we’re on the same wavelength.

No meeting. No reminder. Just vibes and good energy.

And honestly, that’s what makes this place special. When you work alongside people who are aligned, who think alike, and who move with the same purpose, it shows… even down to the outfits.

Great minds think alike. And around here, teamwork isn’t forced, it just flows.

❤️ Wellness, the TPS Way Wednesday ❤️

At The Prescription Shoppe, wellness goes beyond prescriptions. It includes showing up for your community and your future.

Some members of our team recently took a moment to do just that, and many more of our Pharmily members plan to vote on Election Day, April 21. We encourage you to do the same. 🗳️

Early voting is open now through April 18, and Election Day is April 21. Virginia voters will have the opportunity to participate in a Special Election regarding a redistricting constitutional amendment. This is not about voting for a candidate, but about shaping how representation will look in the years ahead.

These decisions still matter. They impact how communities are represented and, ultimately, how policies that affect healthcare and access to care are shaped.

As pharmacists and small business owners, Drs. Henry and Jade Ranger consistently advocate for independent community pharmacy, fighting for issues like PBMs, DIR fees, and access to quality care for our patients. But here is the truth. Your voice matters too.

Show up and advocate for yourself.
Make a plan to vote and take part in the process.

Don’t be a fool this April Fool’s Day. Make your voice heard.

Let’s show up, Virginia. 💪🏽

Because wellness is not just physical. It is personal, communal, and yes, civic too.

❤️ TPS Services Spotlight Tuesday ❤️

At The Prescription Shoppe, our service goes beyond prescriptions. It’s about showing up for our community in every way that matters.

This is your reminder that heart health isn’t just something we talk about in February. It’s something we should be mindful of every single day. Prevention, awareness, and action save lives.

At The Prescription Shoppe, we are honored to have Dr. Jade L. Ranger recognized as a Woman of Impact nominee. More importantly, she remains focused on making a meaningful impact right here in our community. With just one week left in this campaign, we’re asking for your support to help move this mission forward.

Every donation, every conversation, every moment of awareness matters.

If you’ve already given, thank you. Truly. If you’ve been thinking about it, now is the time. Let’s finish strong and continue doing what we do best…taking care of our community.

💊 Behind the Counter Monday 💊

Sometimes “behind the counter” doesn’t just happen inside the pharmacy. It shows up in the community, in the rooms where conversations are happening, relationships are being built, and impact is being made.

This past Friday, Dr. Jade L. Ranger had the opportunity to attend the Power of Women event hosted by the Greater Williamsburg Chamber of Commerce, and it was the perfect way to close out Women’s History Month.

From start to finish, the event was beautifully done. The Chamber truly knows how to bring people together in a meaningful way. And hearing from Coach Erin “Coach E” Dickerson Davis of William & Mary Women’s Basketball was nothing short of inspiring. Her message on believing, leadership, resilience, and showing up with purpose was one that will stick.

It was also a pleasure having a chance to connect with her briefly, along with so many other incredible women in the room who are doing impactful work in their own spaces.

This is what our work looks like beyond prescriptions. Showing up. Staying connected. Being present in the community we serve. Because how we care for our patients is directly tied to how we engage with our community.

That’s the work. Every single day.

💊 Pharm Friday 💊

At The Prescription Shoppe, moments like this are exactly why we do what we do. Caring for our patients goes far beyond prescriptions, it’s about education, prevention, and being present in the moments that matter most.

We’re grateful to see this work highlighted by WHRO Public Media, recognizing how Dr. Jade L. Ranger is helping raise awareness and mobilize the Williamsburg community around heart health. As noted, this effort supports critical initiatives like CPR education, hypertension awareness, and community-based prevention programs that directly impact lives right here at home.

Every blood pressure check, every conversation, every moment spent educating a patient matters. Because heart disease often doesn’t come with loud warning signs, it’s the consistent, everyday care that makes the biggest difference.

We’re proud to serve, proud to advocate, and proud to stand in the gap for our community’s health. ♥️

🙏🏽 Thankful Thursday 🙏🏽

We’re always grateful for opportunities to share, learn, and grow alongside leaders in independent community pharmacy. Recently, Dr. Jade L. Ranger had the opportunity to participate in a discussion highlighting the benefits of membership in the National Community Pharmacists Association (NCPA) and how organizations like this continue to strengthen and support independent pharmacies across the country.

National Community Pharmacists Association serves as a powerful advocate for independent pharmacists, providing education, networking opportunities, business resources, and legislative advocacy that help community pharmacies thrive and better serve their patients.

We’re thankful for the chance to contribute to conversations that elevate our profession and support the future of community pharmacy. Opportunities like this remind us that when pharmacists come together, we can learn from one another and continue pushing our profession forward.
