Societal programming wasn't just limited to our minds—it’s left deep imprints on our bodies too. Not only in how we see our bodies, but in how we move in them. In how we walk into a room, take up space, gesture when we speak, or avoid eye contact when we’re unsure. Women, for example, have been conditioned to nod more, to mirror the energy in the room, to soften. Men, on the other hand, are taught to claim space, hold eye contact, move with more directness. These aren’t personal quirks—they’re learned survival strategies. We’re taught to conform, to blend in, to adjust our bodies to what’s expected, even if it means disconnecting from what’s true inside.

From the time we’re little, we’re put into systems that tell us to sit still when we need to move. To hold it in when we’re overwhelmed. To follow the rules of the room rather than the wisdom of the body. Over time, we stop trusting what we feel. We start editing ourselves—mentally and physically.

But if you’ve ever watched a child in their full sovereignty, you’ve seen what we’ve forgotten. If they’re hot, they say so—right now. If their shirt tag is itchy, they’ll tug at it until someone cuts it off. If they want to crawl on the floor like a lizard or spin in circles just because—it’s happening. They don’t wait for permission. They live inside their bodies without hesitation. Until someone tells them they shouldn’t.

That’s usually when the shutting down begins. “Don’t act like that.” “Use your inside voice.” “Sit still.” And so we do. We start overriding instinct. We stop moving the way we want to. We start moving the way we’re told to.

But the body doesn’t lie—and it doesn’t forget. Fascia, this connective web running through our whole system, is incredibly sensitive. It’s where emotion, memory, and energy get stored. And it doesn’t respond well to rigidity. Fascia needs variety. It needs ease. It responds best to effortless movement. Effortless movement is anything that priotorizes feeling rather than thinking. For some even feeling the body and it's desires is foreign territory which means that effortless movement may not feel so effortless in the beginning. You can start by simply starting a dialouge with your body. You can ask it "how do you want to move in this present moment?" The moment you start seeing your body as a conscious being, a companion of sorts is the moment everything begins shifting. Speak to it as you would a close friend.

When we move out of alignment with what we actually feel, when we push ourselves through tension, or sit in stillness too long just to be “appropriate,” fascia starts to stiffen. It holds onto all the little ways we abandon ourselves. And over time, that shows up as pain, tightness, numbness—even exhaustion that doesn’t make sense.

Our body is the vehicle of the soul. Yet we spend so much of our lives trying to drive the soul rather than allow it to drive us. We force and keep it under our dominion. But what if we let it lead? What if we allowed ourselves softness rather than rigidity? Our Fascia would unwind. Breath would grow deeper without you even trying. Movements would become less awkward, less like something you have to think about—and more like something that rises up naturally. It’s like the body finally gets to speak in its own language, and this time, you’re letting it be heard.

When the soul is leading the body, everything feels different. There’s no push. No pressure to get it right. It’s honest. Sometimes wild. Sometimes subtle. But always real, always you. The ego tends to grip—wants to control or hold back. But the soul? The soul leads you gently into presence. You can feel the shift in your breath, your jaw, the way your shoulders sit. Instead of shriking, you allow yourself to take up space. The soul has the higher perspective, it has the map. Attempting to Keep it trapped within the body and the mind is the difference between moving in circles or moving forward. Either way you're moving, but one keeps you stuck, the other creates progress, beauty and light. Keep shining loves ✨️ 🥰❤️
