The date for the 2026 Williamson High School Athletic Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony has been set!

The 29th class of deserving former Wolfpack athletes/coaches will be enshrined on Saturday, Aug. 1 at the Williamson Community Center. A meet-and-greet will begin at 3 p.m. with the dinner and induction ceremony set to begin at 4 p.m.

Not only will we be honoring another deserving class of former Wolfpack athletes or coaches, we will also be honoring the 1985-86 Williamson Wolfpack basketball team who won the AA State Championship 48-46 over Wheeling Central after a last second shot by Anthony Strother 40 years ago. David Hatfield's squad finished with a 22-5 record that season.

New nominations for the Hall of Fame will be accepted until the deadline on May 17, 2026. The new class will then be voted upon by the Board of Directors shortly after.

Please make plans to join us on Aug. 1! Tickets will be $40 for adults and $25 for children.

The deadline for submitting nominations for the WHS Athletic Hall of Fame Class of 2026 is May 17th, 2026. Please print and use the attached form to submit your nominations using one form per nominee and mail them to the address on the form. We look forward to receiving your nominations for consideration for this years class.

Our community lost a beautiful soul yesterday. Mrs. June Glover was not only a beloved teacher, she was a faithful friend, a generational inspiration and a supportive and loving Mama to countless "kids." She was also a devoted wife to her "Glover" - whom she adored. June and Charles were a true power couple, encouraging progress and education not only in our school system but also in our hospitals and our entire community.
June was not just well known - she was well loved - and she loved well. She was not just popular - she was iconic, legendary even, and will leave a lasting legacy for this little town of Williamson. She was intelligent, witty, compassionate and generous. She radiated goodness and light and love - with a hint of mischievousness.
It's impossible to say how many lives that she affected throughout the years. But I know that we have all benefited from knowing her. We were all her "kids" and she loved us all. When Kyle was just 16 yrs. old, his mom passed away from cancer. Mrs. Glover treated him with so much kindness and tenderness. It made a lasting impression on him and he has always loved her for that. She was his Mama Glover for sure. In her later years, she would call him to come and change a light bulb or something. Of course, he always considered it an honor to do anything for her. She had always done so much for all of us. So thank you Mama Glover, for your encouragement, your support, your generosity, your laughter and most of all, your love. Thanks to all that attended the 2025 Williamson High School Athletic Hall of Fame Induction weekend!! We had a great time inducting our newest class while also honoring the 1995 WHS Cheerleaders who won the first cheer championship in Mingo County history. The HOF Board of Directors also recognized Brian Haney and the late Jim Whitt as 'Friends of the Pack' while outgoing Williamson PK8 student Jackson Jewell received the Inaugural Bobby Gene Oliver All-American Award.

The WHS HOF Class of 2025 consisted of Steve Cantees, Cathy Whitehead Duffield, Joe Howard, Greg Ledger, and Marissa Grace Nortz.

Can't wait to see everyone next year!!!

WILLIAMSON — The Williamson High School Athletic Hall of Fame has announced the 2025 recipients of the Friend of the Pack Award.

The 2025 recipients are the late Jim Whitt, former voice of the Wolfpack, and longtime area coach Brian Haney.
