Aveanna is honored to join the global community in celebrating Moebius Syndrome Awareness Day. This special day allows us to honor individuals living with the condition and raise awareness.

Moebius syndrome is a rare neurological disorder that results in facial paralysis, causing challenges in speaking, eating, and breathing. This congenital condition can impact anyone, regardless of their background. The theme for this year's awareness event is "The Faces Moving Us Forward," a celebration of everyday leaders living with Moebius Syndrome.

We encourage everyone in affected areas to remain vigilant and be prepared for the effects of this storm including possible power outages and road closures.

We want to make sure our Aveanna community is prepared. Patients and their families should follow these tips based on guidance from the Oley Foundation:

• If there is a true medical emergency please call 911.

• Make sure you have back up power or batteries ready for any medical devices or pumps you depend on. Keep a battery powered radio and your cell phone charged so you can stay informed.

• Plug in any medical equipment or devices that need to be charged (e.g., ventilators, feeding pumps, mobile phones, etc.)

• Listen to appropriate warnings from governmental officials advising of precautions and evacuations.

• Check with home care suppliers and medical providers NOW to ensure that you have enough medications and nutritional supplies (formula, HPN, etc.) to last at least 48–72 hours, in case of supply chain delays.

• Write down important telephone numbers in case you cannot access the contacts on your mobile phone. This includes, but is not limited to, your home care company branch, regional and national offices.

Meet Delainey, our amazing Clinical Director here at Aveanna Williamsport!

🩺 What I do:
Take care of the day to day business from a clinical aspect for our clients, families and office.

💙 What inspired me to work in home health:
I was looking for a different change of pace in my career (came from a hospital setting)

🌼 My favorite part of my job:
I have two favorite parts of my job! The first is getting our clients the help they need and deserve, and the other part is spending time with the clients and their families! The bonds you get to build are something special!

🏡 When I’m not working, you can find me:
Hanging with my family! I am a mom of 3 boys so they keep me super busy/on my toes and take up all of my time outside of work. I wouldn’t trade it for anything!

✨ Something patients might not know about me:
I love to travel and see new places!

2026 is a particularly special year for Aveanna patient Kyle because he will be attending school for the first time!

Before coming to Aveanna, Kyle was unable to attend school without a nurse due to having a trach and vent. With his dedicated Aveanna care team by his side every step of the way, Kyle can attend school, make new friends, and grow. His family can rest assured that he is safe and cared for while he experiences new and exciting things in the classroom and beyond.
