Presbyterian Senior Living Presbyterian Home at Williamsport provides personal care for seniors in a safe, homelike environment

Presbyterian Senior Living offers independent senior living in three types of community settings: Life Plan Communities, Senior Rental Apartments and Affordable Senior Housing. Our Life Plan communities (sometimes referred to as continuing care retirement communities, CCRCs) offer a vibrant independent life with the ability to pursue passions, find new interests and engage in purposeful living. Our Senior Rental Apartments give older adults freedom from home maintenance and the burden of homeownership. Our Affordable housing communities provide peace of mind for low to moderate-income seniors with utilities included and manageable rents based on area median incomes and eligibility.

As we grow older, the challenges associated with aging can sometimes lead to feelings of loss, sadness, and loneliness.

But there’s growing evidence to show that by cultivating a positive outlook, we may be able to create a buffer against difficult emotions. Learning to practice gratitude and focus on the good can help an older adult become more resilient, leading to an overall better quality of life.

Our blog, "Tips for Cultivating a Positive Mindset," reviews behaviors to increase your sense of positivity. ⬇️Link in comments to read the full blog

Artistry on Display🎨

The talented residents and team members at Pine Run Lakeview Assisted Living, Doylestown, PA, recently unveiled their creativity at their very own Lakeview Art Show. Families joined us for the grand opening to admire an incredible collection of handmade works: everything from crewel and cross-stitch to hand-sewn teddy bears, decoupage, and beautiful paintings.

A special highlight was Dining Manager Katie Haskey’s demonstration on preserving and pressing fresh flowers into exquisite art pieces.

The exhibit will remain on display for the next few weeks for all to enjoy the artistry that makes our community shine!

💙 Team Member Spotlight: Joyce Knowles, LPN
Meet Joyce Knowles, a Licensed Practical Nurse at Kirkland Village who has dedicated nearly 14 years to making a difference in the lives of our residents and their families: https://hubs.ly/Q03Lp_4h0

A Journey of Growth

Joyce's story began in 2011 when she was hired as a Med Tech at just 20 years old. With the mentorship of leaders like Liz Jensen and the support of the PSL family, Joyce worked her way through nursing school and has grown into a compassionate leader who now mentors others.

Today, she serves as a Nurse, Med Tech Trainer, Staff Scheduler, and Clinical Mentor across all levels of care.

Why Senior Care?

Raised in part by her grandmother (now 91), Joyce's passion is deeply personal. "Watching my grandmother age fuels my passion for helping seniors find grace and purpose in the aging process."

After losing her father at a young age, Joyce vowed to support families navigating the challenges of aging and terminal illness. "I want to be there for both residents and their families through it all."

Her Advice:

"Put God first, have faith, and give yourself grace. Always be open to learning."

Thank you, Joyce, for your dedication and compassion. You truly embody the mission of Presbyterian Senior Living! 💙

PSL celebrated Diane Dantos, Volunteer extraordinaire and PSL Altruism Award winner for 2025, with a lunch for her and her family on July 10 at the Presbyterian Village of Hollidaysburg.

Diane volunteers daily from early in the morning (sometimes before 7am) until after lunch Monday through Friday enriching the lives of the residents in the personal care home. She brings purpose, meaning, friendship and laughter to their lives through her companionship, trivia, movement, song, stories, prayer, games and sharing of meals. She loves "spending time with her girls" and they look forward to spending time with her. She has been volunteering selflessly since June of 2020.

PSL, the team and residents at Presbyterian Village and all who have met Diane are lucky to not just call her a friend, but to call her family. You can't help but smile when you are near Diane. Diane, we are blessed to have you in our lives!

A huge Thank You to First Community Foundation Partnership of Pennsylvania for its recent grant of $6,050! This support helped the community purchase two new commercial-grade washers and a dryer. These appliances help the team manage the weekly laundry needs of residents more efficiently. With them, wash time has been cut from nearly 2 hours to just 27 minutes per load. “This contribution truly lightens the load for our team and has made a big difference in the residents' daily lives,” according to Renee Moore, Personal Care Home Administrator.

This weekend we're celebrating National Centenarians Day 💯 ... and the MORE THAN 75 Centenarians who live in our communities!

We are delighted to celebrate these residents as they achieve this milestone - and every year after! With our focus on person-centered care, each celebration is unique for each individual. We've shared birthday parties with small family gathers and community-wide festivities. We've invited former neighbors, church families and elected officials ... even the Philly Phanatic crashed one special party! We've had special music and special cars. We even had a firetruck parade, fulfilling one resident's lifelong dream to ride in a firetruck!

Congratulations to ALL our Centenarians! Thank you for sharing your wisdom and stories with your neighbors and our team!
