URGENT: Food Assistance Alert

Because of the ongoing federal government shutdown, the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits in Michigan are on hold for November.

In Michigan, about 1.4 million people, roughly 13% of households, rely on SNAP.

This pause is cruel and unnecessary. A program meant to help families put food on the table is being used as a bargaining chip. When families cannot access the most basic support, it is a serious blow to their dignity and security.

We at the Women’s Center of Greater Lansing are continuously updating our resource list, and we’re here to help.

If you or someone you know needs food assistance please call us at (517) 372-9163 or email info@lansingwomen.org. We will refer you to local food pantries and meal programs.

You are not alone. We stand with you, and we’ll do everything we can to support our community.
