Our practice has been serving the Williamstown community for the last 13 years. Here at Hershman Chiropractic, we see our patients as family. Our mission is to create a welcoming environment where our patients and their families are educated and receive the best and most effective care possible.

We are looking to fill a steady position for 2 to 3 mornings and totaling 8-14 hours per week with the added opportunity to cover evening and/or Hammonton office shifts depending on staff coverage needs. You will be asked to answer the phone, schedule appointments, email, verify insurance (we can teach you how to do this…), collect copays, scan and file patient records, and do some light cleaning. We would really like you to be at least acquainted with using spreadsheets but you will absolutely need to know how to handle money.

Qualifications:
Experience working in customer service.
Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask
Works well in a team environment

Benefits you will receive:
1 week paid vacation (after 1 year anniversary)
3 personal days
Extra hours or days
Bonus for hitting team goals

Your schedule would be Monday and Wednesday 8:45 to 1 and Friday 7:45 to 1 (minimally 2 of those days but possibly all 3). Your pay will be discussed at your interview and will depend on experience.

Give thanks to the people in your life who have shared in your joy and give thanks to the people in your life who have supported you during your challenges.

Back to school means back to bookbags. Heavy bookbags can cause discomfort while sitting in class and difficulty in getting to sleep and/or paying attention. Yes... even kids can benefit from getting adjusted. Make sure to schedule an appointment for them, too!

Tell me again why you can't make changes to your life...?

10 years ago, I was a happy guy. I was sluggish, had aches and pains, and wasn't working out regularly... but I was eating whatever tasted good and, despite my happiness, was unwittingly headed to a second divorce. I figured all my issues were normal for an almost 40 year old husband and father. Boy, was I wrong.

This picture came up in a memory notification the other day, and I had to take a second look at who I was seeing. I knew it was me... but I could not, at this point in my life, understand how that could be me.

I work with patients on a daily basis who defend their inability to make changes in their life. They blame their age. They blame their job. They blame their inability to sleep. They blame their family history. They blame their heritage.

I had all the same excuses back then.

I've learned in these past 10 years that although you can not control most things that happen in life, you can control how you approach life. I've changed how I work out. I've changed how I eat. I've changed who I surround myself with. I've changed my outlook. And I can honestly say that I don't miss any of those things that I thought I couldn't live without.

I'm less than 2 years from being 50, and I feel better than I've ever felt. I sleep well. I wake up early and start my day with reading and an outside walk (after coffee - with no sugar - of course). I lift weights even if I don't feel like it (which is not a feeling I often feel anymore) six days per week. I'm 20lbs lighter than I was in high school, 50lbs lighter than i was in college, and I'm doing all of this with an energy level that makes 30 year olds ask me to slow down in order for them to catch up.

I have no intention of ever slowing down.

Notice I didn't say "sugar"... Craving indulgence has a huge mental aspect, so simply replacing your sweet sugary foods with sweet sugar-free foods will do nothing to reduce the struggle you may feel when trying to eat better.

Good ways to reduce sweet cravings:
- reduce alcohol consumption
- get more sleep
- eat more protein
- eat more fat
- eat whole foods
- drink more water
- reduce stress
- ride the wave (aka suck it up for a bit and let the feeling pass)

If none of that helps, we may need to look at your bloodwork to see if you have any underlying hormonal issues that may need to be more specifically addressed.
