While we are not affiliated with the event, we fully support any organization or event that shares the same mission of promoting mental wellness. This information is something even people who don’t struggle with codependency need to hear. Women especially are raised to be people pleasers, caregivers, we are hardwired to be nurturing. Problems can start when we continue to do things we don’t necessarily want to do; we can become resentful. In therapy we start off small- maybe saying no to something just one time that week when we would normally say yes out of obligation or guilt. It gets easier over time and can be very freeing! The hard part can be peoples’ reactions to your newfound healthy boundaries. Always remember your feelings are valid and healthy communication is key! 💕
