Sweetwood celebrates MLK Day as a host site for a service project through Northern Berkshire's MLK Day of Service A Day On, Not A Day Off. For the past few years, participants design a fabric square with MLK reflections and connections and tie it on to other squares to make a quilt. The completed quilts are then displayed in The View Gallery. Participants this year included Sweetwood Residents and Staff, MCLA Students, Williams College Students and Williams College Girls Soccer Team members.

Our Harmony Village at CareOne Stanwick Road community is proud to celebrate a truly remarkable accomplishment! 🎉

Tiairra from our Activities team and Nathaniel Carr from Housekeeping, who are also brother and sister, were both recognized for perfect attendance in 2025. Never late, never sick, no call outs, and perfect punches all year long.

This level of dedication and reliability is something to truly applaud. Thank you, Tiairra and Nate, for showing up every day and setting such a powerful example. Congratulations on this well deserved recognition! 💙

Yesterday, we had the honor of celebrating a truly special milestone at our CareOne at Somerset Valley Assisted Living community. Our Director of Culinary Services, Jessica Melendez, is celebrating an incredible 20 years with CareOne.

Jessica began her journey in 2006 as a cook at our East Brunswick location. Through dedication, talent, and a genuine passion for caring for others, she advanced to Food Service Director in 2012 and has since shared her leadership and culinary expertise across many CareOne communities before returning home to Somerset Valley in 2022.

For Jessica, food is her love language. She pours her heart into every meal, honoring each resident’s needs, preferences, and requests so everyone feels cared for and valued.

Twenty years represents countless meals, relationships, and lives touched (and well fed). Thank you, Jessica, for your compassion, leadership, and dedication! 💙

APS Launch Day at CareOne at Essex Park! 🎉

We’re excited to launch APS Advanced Pharmacy Solutions - APS , an advanced medication dispensing system designed to better support our nursing teams. APS helps reduce time spent on med passes, improves medication accuracy, and streamlines daily workflows so our nurses can focus more on direct patient care.

For our residents, that means safer medication delivery, quicker access to medications, and more meaningful time with the caregivers they trust. 💙

We started 2026 off with the first of 2 workshops offered by Elizabeth Burnett as part of her "Journey Through Memories and Legacy" program. This workshop was titled "Capturing Memories." The next workshop will be held on Friday, January 30th from 2-3pm and it is titled "Shaping Our Legacy."

Sweetwood sure knows how to ring in the New Year in style. The Low Family joined us in the afternoon and shared their musical talents with us. We sincerely thank the 3 siblings who delighted us with some holiday music and ended their performance with Auld Lang Syne of course. Residents then moved into the Dining Room for some passed hors d'oeuvres which included caviar, sparkling drink, a delicious dinner and decadent dessert. We are ready for 2026 to be a great year!
