Congratulations to Syretta on earning this month's Care Pro of the Month award! We received a call from a person who witnessed her in action at a local grocery store stating how attentive and caring she was to her client! We're not surprised! She is always so great with all of her clients. We also got feedback on what a great conversationalist she is. She can take on any client situation and turn it around for the better. Syretta has a magnetic personality and puts her clients needs first. She told us that she always wants to be a good representation of Home Instead! Well, it turned out to be in her favor! 3 Cheers for Mary...hip hip hooray!... for her 2 year anniversary. Mary is quiet (gentle) and steadfast. Highly skilled with our clients with dementia. We can always count on her! Mary came to us in the summer of 2023 and brought with her amazing experience! I loved her right away and glad she stuck with us for 2 years. Here’s a few summer tips for older loved ones:

💧 Keep drinks flowing — Hydration is key. Try lemon water, herbal iced tea, or fruit-infused water for a refreshing twist.

🌿 Stick to shade — Morning and evening are best for fresh air. Think porch chats, garden strolls, or birdwatching under a tree.

🍓 Eat the rainbow — Seasonal foods like berries, melons, cucumbers, and tomatoes are easy, colorful, and packed with nutrients.

Here’s your caregiver-approved summer safety toolkit for aging loved ones:

💧 Hydrate with variety – Water is essential, but try chilled fruit, herbal iced tea, smoothies, or even popsicles to keep it fun and refreshing.

👒 Dress smart – Light, breathable clothing and wide-brimmed hats help regulate temperature and protect sensitive skin.

🌬️ Cool it down – If there’s no AC, use fans, cold washcloths, or even a bowl of cool water for hands and wrists to provide quick relief.

🌿 Time outdoor activities wisely – Early mornings or evenings are safest. A short stroll, porch chat, or birdwatching can bring joy without overheating.

Congrats to Syretta on her first year anniversary with Home Instead! Woo hoo!! She does such a great job with her clients and is so comfortable in her role, that it seems like she had been with us so much longer! Syretta took great efforts in getting herself certified in dementia care too! One of her clients had this to say: "I don't consider her an "aide", she is really like an extended part of my family!"
