My journey with Acupressure started in 1983 when I witnessed a family friend practicing this amazing technique and healing conditions that seemed awfully challenging even to the medical practitioners. The experience motivated me to learn directly from this very talented Acupressure therapist, who himself had learnt it from a monk in Northern India.
Young, energetic and eager to be at the frontiers of biology, I earned Masters in Microbiology and Ph.D. in Molecular Biology. All this time, I continued working with my teacher whenever time permitted and applied my skills to help my family and friends in relieving any pain or stress conditions. Fast forward to almost two decades after living in United States and working as Research Scientist, I kept feeling a pull to be able to provide this healing therapy to as many people as possible.
Working with people and being of service has been my passion and key to my being happy. I received training at New York Institute of Massage to become a licensed massage therapist and also earned certification in Acupressure Mastery Program with Michael Reed Gach, Ph.D. Currently I am learning Aromatherapy as well as pursuing a certification in Cupping therapy.
Equipped with these accreditations, I am able to follow my dream of helping out my clients with many conditions that are natural byproducts of our modern lifestyles. Very fast-paced lives and over-stimulating sensory inputs from social media keep most of us moving and hooked at the same time. So much so that we may forget to take a calming, mindful step back and just let ourselves be. This may result in stress, anxiety and depression at the mental level, and headaches, migraines, stiff neck/shoulders, compromised digestion and many ensuing diseases at the physical level.
