Astrology for July 2025
With so much going retrograde this month, travel can be fraught with delays and communications can become strained.
If it is not already obvious … we are different. It is not just the world that seems so. It is something deep inside that has become untethered and is now (in this month of July) going to be unleashed.
The last time Uranus was in Gemini was in 1942, the world was at war, governments were in chaos, people were being force-fed misinformation, and dictators were weaponizing their people. Everything in our world was reshaped in those moments of Uranus in Gemini. I expect nothing less this round as well.
All the rules and laws are going to be reshaped, and we get to decide if we are going to use our power to support freedom and harmony or discord and division.
This process will take a long time and yet, this month is like watching the preview of a movie. You are not going to get all the details handed out to you. You are going to only get a glimpse of what is to come.
Between Uranus in Gemini and Pluto in Aquarius, we are going to experience a “soul revolution.”
Yes, it is going to be total chaos. But chaos is the mechanism for change in this reality. Each of us will be a part of that change and a part of that unfolding that needs to happen.
This month begins a transformational test. Remember, it is only the beginning. This is a time when the quantum reality will ask us to leap … not knowing if we are ready.
It would not be a real test if we were completely prepared. This is a time that will test our character and reveal the deeper character of others. Know that you are not going to be left behind. You are in a place where your resilience will be tested to the fullest. And that is a very good thing.
Neptune and Saturn will both go retrograde in Aries and this is the first time this will have happened in our lifetimes. Aries is all about individuality, having courage, and when in duress … to listen to our instinct, and then act accordingly. What is going to become obvious is that the distractions are going to be stripped away and we are going to see what is unfolding regardless of the noise and misinformation that we are being fed.
Magic lives in the chaos. And that magic will become very strong as the month progresses.
This is a month to really look and promote those places that allow you to shine bright and to share your gifts and voice with others.
But you must remember to listen to the flows of energy in your own body. The chances are high that you are going to feel overstimulated, overamped, and overwhelmed. That is when you are going to need to sleep, rest, and step away for critical moments to find your center in this new energy that is unfolding.
But since most of this month we are in the time of Cancer, it is a time for us to focus on home and family. Connecting with those we love is going to be the best way to channel your energy and light. Do those things that are heartfelt and that you can bring your full attention and consciousness into.
The New Moon in Cancer on June 25th, set the stage for a powerful new beginning. It is time for us to address our own foundations and to do only those things that feed our own soul and show that we honor ourselves.
July 4th, Venus moves into Gemini
Love is about trust and the willingness to maintain communication channels and to keep them open. With this aspect we become more curious and willing to embark on an adventure that will bring us closer. All communication can be fraught with risk. But when you love deeply the risk is worth it.
Just remember that the mind can make ridiculous demands upon us and so step back and lead with your heart rather than your head.
Don’t take small things personally. Know that some things will feel important but that they will be fleeting and without substance. Do not let small distractions take you off the course of those things that really matter.
Neptune goes retrograde in Aries
Seems it is time to not look outward for inspiration but to make sure that our dreams align with our deepest inner selves. It is time to go within and be more receptive. It is time to allow the insanity and indecisiveness of the external world to be pushed into the background and to focus on what will work for us personally. There is a powerfully fertile place in the darkness of our soul that needs to have your love and light. It is time to make it about us and not about others (other than those we love the most).
July 7-8, Uranus enters Gemini for the long haul
This is another big day on all levels. Uranus belongs to Aquarius and is an air sign. It moves into Gemini another air sign. This shifts things significantly in the worlds of communication and technology. It supports us in expanding into new levels of intellectual awareness. This is a cycle that will last 7 years! It pushes us towards powerful breakthroughs, radical new ideas, a demand for greater freedoms and mobility, and a desire to learn ways to merge with others rather than divide. It is a pattern that is inclusive in its perspective. Over time, we will demand more authentic expression from others.
But all that air can generate a lot of restlessness, anxiety, and uncertainty. This will be a cycle that will generate crisis after crisis, and much chaos. Fluxuations will come at us rapidly and in ways that will be challenging to handle. Expect to see some borders and boundaries to shift. It will be a time of rebellion and revolution. There will be a demand to do things differently. Powerful and forceful groups will organize and become unrelenting in their demands. Alliances and allegiances will shift. Many things will feel as if they are being ripped apart and that is exactly what is going to happen.
Uranus in Gemini has had a significant impact on the US Chart. The last time this transit happened in the US Chart was our involvement in World War 2 (1941-1945) and the US Civil War (1861-1865). Just ponder that for a moment. But it goes back even further … the American Revolutionary War (1774-1782).
What will be clear is that we are in a time of upheaval and a moment in our society where there will be radical change. This month it is important to be prepared and to be unapologetically honest with ourselves about a lot of things.
July 10th, Full Moon in Capricorn
This is a day where powerful new insights can emerge from the rubble and dust of our old-world that is crumbling. What will be now seen, can no longer be ignored. What is clear is that we are all connected and that because we have not taken care of our duties and responsibilities, everyone will now suffer. These realizations may feel a bit harsh. But they will be more painful for those that were living the longest in denial.
July 13th, Saturn goes retrograde in Aries
Saturn will be in retrograde through November 27th. Seems that we have shirked our responsibilities and now the lack of follow-through is coming back to haunt us. The choices now force us to have to directly deal with the consequences of our inability to come together, to compromise, and to call out the lies for what they are. Fears become real, and the guilt and suffering will also become real. But this is the only way for some to learn the horror of their own choices and actions.
The pains of growth that karma is now going to require … will cause terrible suffering and untold deaths.
July 15th-August 11th, Mercury Retrograde in Leo
This retrograde cycle may feel longer and stronger than normal. Make sure you put it to good use and allow the joy of the energy in Leo to bring you into more creative pursuits that will allow you to look at the many situations in your life with fresh eyes. You are more resourceful than you know. Take the time to find out more of who is really inside you.
July 22nd, Sun goes into Leo
We move from so much reflective and introspective emotional energy of the Cancer Sun into the more dynamic and outgoing energy of the Sun in Leo. Growth requires us to try new things. Growth is supposed to be fun. Growth is a way to wake up the mind. Growth requires us to confront and release the worn-out patterns of our wounded self.
Look at the Sun in Cancer as your time to be inside the cocoon. But the Leo Sun says it is time to stop apologizing and to be bold and brash. The motto today is: “F**k what others think!”
And remember that what will matter is how your honest expression of your vulnerability is going to be the doorway to help you find your real power.
July 24th, New Moon in Leo, Moon opposes Pluto
This New Moon feels like an energetic clean up crew. It is time to move the furniture and get the dust out from under all the rugs. It is time to remember that to make things special, we often need to create an environment to allow not just ourselves but others to also play. We need to remember how important it is for us to find a way to come together and do things that are just for fun without needing them to have some powerful impact in the world.
We need to learn to allow each moment to be special and complete without a lot of pomp and ceremony.
To say that this moment feels complicated is an understatement. It is time to move us past the habituated patterns of our life and to radically push for critical changes.
The sense of urgency is real and the patterns unfolding will be treacherous to navigate.
July 30, Venus moves into Cancer, Chiron will move into its long retrograde
Everything will feel as if it needs to be reassessed and readdressed. This Chiron Retrograde will last until January 2nd, 2026. What is clear is that there are many waves of healing and transformation that will have to take place. The process will be slow and arduous but this is a moment that is essential and necessary for being able to withstand what is yet to come this year.
