International Overdose Awareness Day (IOAD) is observed each year on August 31. It is the world's largest annual campaign to end drug overdose and remember those lost to overdose.

In 2024, data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention yielded an estimate of 80,391 drug overdose deaths in the United States, a decrease of 26.9% from the 110,037 deaths in 2023. Let’s work together to keep the number of accidental deaths declining.

How can you help?

-Encourage abstinence
-Know the signs of overdose
-Encourage using substance testing kits
-Carry Narcan or Naloxone kits (ask us where to find them free of charge)
