We would like to introduce you to Erin, she has just joined our Reno, NV team and has openings for new clients!

Erin earned her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Nevada, Reno and is a licensed clinical mental heath counseling intern under the supervision of Vanessa Center, Natalie Sanchez, and Ellie Holbrook. While making her way through school, Erin gained valuable experience working with the Trauma Intervention Program of Northern Nevada for two years, Family Respite Care for one year, and completed a one-year internship with clients at the Downing Counseling Clinic on the University of Nevada, Reno’s campus.

Erin’s approach centers on building a trusting, safe relationship where the client and counselor work as partners in the healing journey. Drawing from person-centered, narrative, and existential frameworks, Erin helps clients build on their individual strengths while cultivating the insights and self-compassion needed to process the past and rediscover hope for the future.

Erin is passionate about helping clients achieve their personal goals and live authentically. Her aim is for clients to leave sessions feeling genuinely heard and understood, more connected to their true self, and empowered to create meaning from their experiences.

Phil has joined our Reno, NV team and has openings for new clients. Welcome to the team Phil!

A bit about Phil: Having worked for several years for our nation’s VA, I have significant experience in helping people work through and recover from sexual trauma (both male and female), compulsive sexual behavior, physical childhood abuse, PTSD/CPTSD, Veteran issues and moral injury, relationship betrayal and recovering from extreme, damaging relationships.

I help people understand, accept and navigate the inevitable transitions that occur in life. Struggling with life transitions (that may mean denying or not understanding them) is normal, but often the root of chronic depression and anxiety. Change is inevitable in life, whether we desire it or not, and produces windows of transition. Even 'positive' transition can be stressful and present challenges. Our own unresolved trauma can make that overwhelming.

If you're here, then you already have the drive for something much better for your life. If this is new to you, it can be an anxious thing to reach out to start a new relationship with a therapist. I've been there, I get it. A good client-therapist bond can be an incredibly powerful, positive thing and can work wonders.

Alexandra, congratulations on finishing your internship and getting your Licensed Clinical Social Workers license!

From Alexandra: 2020 has shifted the world as we know it. Ultimate health has become our new form of currency. When the mental, emotional, financial, social, occupational, and spiritual realms are out of balance this produces inevitable stress and anxiety. My question to you is: How are you dealing with stress? Many of us have been conditioned to develop maladaptive coping strategies that have been either detrimental to our health or overall have been counterproductive, leaving us filled with an array of negative feelings in undesirable circumstances.

In my practice, I provide a safe space to uncover and explore your presenting problems and empower you to overcome life struggles. I practice from a holistic approach that encompasses: mind, body, and spirit components. Together, we can tackle obstacles that interfere with your personal health, the relationships you share with others, and overcoming traumas.

I specialize in Trauma-Informed practices, including EMDR therapy and mind-body Medicine, and am a certified Reiki Practitioner. Using these modalities, I tailor to the needs of children, adults, and families facing life adversities and traumatic events. I am here to assist you and provide you with the tools to unlock your ultimate health. Now, let’s begin.
