Meet Issa, our new HR Coordinator at SCHC! With an impressive background in healthcare—from EMT to Infusion Scheduler—she's passionate about using her skills to support the community she now calls home.

Issa recently moved to Alaska to be closer to family (and a new grandbaby!) and is already loving the lifestyle. She’s embracing the adventure and bringing warmth, integrity, and curiosity to our HR team.

📣 Meet Jennifer – Pharmacy Technician at SCHC! 💊🌿

Please welcome Jennifer, who brings her passion for patient-centered healthcare to our team as a Pharmacy Technician in Willow! Her mission? To help scale the Willow pharmacy to full-service and ensure secure, timely access to prescriptions for all.

Jennifer joined SCHC to return to healthcare with a deeper focus on patient needs—and we’re thrilled to have her. She plays a key role as the direct link between patients' treatment plans and their provider’s prescriptions, keeping care connected and efficient.

Originally from out of state, Jennifer moved to the Mat-Su Valley two years ago and quickly fell in love with the small-town charm, epic outdoor adventures, and unique Alaskan climate. When she’s not at SCHC, you’ll find her gardening, enjoying wildlife, reading by the fire, or sewing in her study.

Big news continues for behavioral health in the Valley!

Mat-Su Regional Medical Center, in partnership with the Mat-Su Health Foundation, has officially submitted a Certificate of Need (CON) application to the State of Alaska to build a new 45-bed behavioral health hospital in Palmer.

📍 Proposed location: 1790 S. Woodworth Loop—right next to our hospital campus.

💙 The Foundation is providing both the land and funding to make this project a reality.

📈 If approved, the hospital would:

Expand inpatient care for adults and adolescents
Reduce pressure on emergency rooms
Create 50 full-time jobs in our community
