I haven’t posted in a long time but I thought I would post a quick video to share some ideas that I thought are very useful in today’s world of constant stress.
Most people face stress in some area or the other but that seeps into our relationships and Yoga sutras give us a great tool to navigate relationships with the proper attitude so we don’t lose our peace of mind.
The goal of Yoga is connecting with our inner bliss while living the world.
✅ Learn the one yoga sutra that gives the answers for right attitude towards all the people we deal with.
✅ Use these keys in your daily life to see if it helps alleviate some of that stress
✅ Practice daily to see results
✅ Awareness is the key and once we train ourselves it will become second nature.

Healthy South Indian Recipe:
Traditional South Indian dish called Adai (Thick lentil pancakes).

Adai is a very healthy dish made with a mix of lentils soaked and ground into a batter and then cooked on the pan. It is packed with fiber and protein. In this recipe I added some veggies to make it even healthier.

🧾Recipe:
Ingredients
1/2 cup of Toor dal (pigeon peas)
1/2 cup channa dal (yellow split peas)
3/4 cup moong dal
1/4 cup urad dal (black gram lentils)
1/2 cup of raw rice (for crispyness)

Soak all of them for a couple of hours and then grind them coarsly. Add salt, asafoetida (hing), and curry leaves.

These can be made into thin pancakes by grinding finely with a little more water.

🌿For this recipe take desired amount of batter and add chopped veggies and follow the video.
I used onions, red peppers, cucumbers (sub zucchini if you like), green chillies.
Shredded carrots can be added as well.
Turmeric powder, chilli powder. ginger.
Roasted peanuts or cashews can be added as well.

Nutrition:
✅ High in fiber
✅ High in protein
✅ Ayurvedic healthy - All six tastes: sweet from rice, astringent lentils, salt, sour from the yogurt dip and pickle, bitter from peppers, spinach and pungent spices.
✅ Filling and satisfying and can be eaten for any meal or as a snack. Only portion will vary.

😋Thick adai (traditionally) is also called Thavala adai which is a slight variation where the lentils are soaked, dried, powdered coarsely and then mixed with sour yogurt and then made it in the pan as shown.

My breakfast this morning!
Ancient grain and seed bread from Trader Joe’s. ( 2 slices but very small) toasted and with a tsp of ghee
6 olives
Roasted red peppers
Pickled cucumbers
Mozzarella balls

When we were in Istanbul Turkey, they always had olives and tomatoes in abundance at meals.

Mediterranean diet is considered the healthiest of the diets in our current understanding for gut microbiome and I wanted to add some of those with my toast.

Per Ayurveda:
✅ All six tastes included. Bread (sweet), peppers (pungent and bitter), pickles (sour and salty), Olives (astringent), Mozzerella (salty, pungent and sour dipped in chillie oil)
✅ Seeds and nuts give natural fats and omega 3 from flax seeds in it. (not a lot but some)
✅ Combining veggies, olives and cheese lowers the reduces the Glycemic load, preventing spikes in BS.
✅ Hung cheeses are always considered healthier than aged cheeses. So mozzerella and paneer fit the bill.

Overall felt good eating it and enjoyed it. 😋Breakfast does not have to be complicated as long as you make healthy choices and sit down and enjoy the tastes!
