VFW & Auxiliary will meet at the Memorial Hall at 9am to set up the lead vehicles.

If you have a military vehicle please join us in honoring our Veterans!!!!

VFW will perform a flag raising ceremony at Jensen Park at the conclusion of the parade.

Thank you to everyone who helped to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our great nation.

We also honored the mothers and fathers who raised heroes.

We honored the husbands & wives that lost their soul mates.

We honored the brothers
& sisters that miss their best friends.

And we honored the sons & daughters that only have fleeting memories of their parents.

Looking for Volunteers to assist with putting away the Memorial Day flags at the Willows Cemetery.

The team will be leaning at 5 PM to ensure that all flags are packed up before the sunsets.

This is a great opportunity for our youth to give back to our community and honor those that gave their lives for our great country!

First-Ever Senior Resource Expo for Glenn County Seniors

Orland, CA-In response to the growing need for accessible resources for our Glenn County aging
population, the Aging Wellbeing Coalition is thrilled to announce the inaugural Senior Resource Expo on June 27, 2024,from 10AM to 3PM at the Glenn County Fairgrounds in Orland. This free pioneering event is dedicated to empowering and supporting local seniors ages 55 and above.
The Senior Resource Expo is not just another event. It's a unique platform that aims to bring together a comprehensive array of services and information tailored specifically to the unique needs and interests of seniors. From wellness to critical services and social activities, attendees can expect to find a wealth of resources that are designed to enhance their quality of life and well-being.
“Our seniors are the backbone of our community, and it’s essential that we provide them with the support and resources they need,” said Monica Rossman, Glenn County District 2 Board Member." The Senior Resource Expo is an opportunity to connect seniors with the tools and services that can help them navigate the challenges and opportunities of aging with dignity and independence.”The event will feature booths and presentations from healthcare providers, non-profit organizations and government agencies covering topics such as:
Health screenings and wellness programs
Veteran services
Elder fraud, elder abuse, and legal planning services
Food and transportation services
Social activities, clubs, and volunteer opportunities
In addition to informational sessions and vendor exhibits, the Senior Resource Expo will also offer a free meal(courtesy of Assemblyman James Gallagher), live entertainment, prizes, and opportunities for networking and socializing. "We are excited to provide an event for seniors to discover new opportunities, make connections, and access the support they need,” said Jim Yoder, Glenn County District 4 Board Member. "The Senior Resource Expo is a landmark event that looks forward to welcoming all local seniors.” Yasmin Caro, Glenn County Health and Human Services Agency and Yolanda Martinez, Community Action Department are the co-chairs of the first Glenn County 2024 Senior Resource Expo.
