Given the success of our 3 year old laser photobiomodulation program, at Wunsch Chiropractic, we will be adding a new MedRay multi-wavelength Class IV therapeutic laser, to our practice. This 30 watt laser will allow for improved tissue pe*******on depth, and delivered light volume. This will afford more efficient management of deeper structural issues , like those involving hips, knees, and lower backs. Additionally, the simultaneous delivery, of four individual laser wavelengths, will allow us to better manage a larger variety of conditions. Call Wunsch Chiropractic, at (530) 934-2751, if you have any questions, regarding this technology, or if you'd like to schedule a laser consultation.

Random olecranon bursitis hit last night, seen in pic 1. Always appreciate my own injuries, because I get to try out my bag of tricks. The second pic is after three cold laser treatments. Olecranon bursitis is typically 1-3 weeks to resolve. A solid 50% reduction in swelling in 24 hrs. Cool technology for sure.

The gut-brain science keeps strengthening. The gut-brain connection is involved in neuroinflammatory conditions, like Parkinson's, depression, autism, ADHD, MS, and a myriad of other conditions, including most auto-immune conditions. A healthy, well balanced gut microbiome is critical to human health. If you need help balancing your microbiome, we do that.

Researchers have suspected for some time that the link between our gut and brain plays a role in the development of Parkinson's disease.

Lots of talk about restaurants shifting from industrial seed oils, in their fryers, toward healthier, less inflammatory options. The concern is the health impact of the excessive US intake, of high Omega-6 oils. Not only are these oils more pro-inflammatory, they are often found in foods that are otherwise not good for human health. While Omega 6 fats are essential to human health, too much of a good thing, is a thing.

Here’s a list of common cooking oils ranked from highest to lowest in omega-6 fatty acids:

1. Corn Oil - Around 59% omega-6 fatty acids.
2. Soybean Oil - Around 58% omega-6 fatty acids.
3. Sunflower Oil (high-oleic) - Around 65% omega-6 fatty acids
4. Safflower Oil (high-oleic) - Around 75% omega-6 fatty acids.
5. Cottonseed Oil - Around 50% omega-6 fatty acids.
6. Grapeseed Oil - Around 70% omega-6 fatty acids.
7. Peanut Oil - Around 33% omega-6 fatty acids.
8. Sesame Oil - Around 41% omega-6 fatty acids.
9.Canola Oil - Around 20% omega-6 fatty acids.
10. Olive Oil - Around 9–13% omega-6 fatty acids
11. Avocado Oil - Around 13% omega-6 fatty acids
12. Coconut Oil - Less than 2% omega-6 fatty acids

Many lightly processed food companies are also making the switch. Boulder Canyon chips are my favorite "junk" food, as they use olive, and avocado oils. This chip is just potatoes, salt, and avocado oil.

Cardiac Calcium Score CT scans are a reliable way to determine cardiovascular disease risk, due to atherosclerotic plaque, or hardening of the arteries.

A cardiac calcium score (also called a coronary artery calcium score or CAC score) is a measurement used to evaluate the amount of calcium in the coronary arteries (the blood vessels that supply the heart). The presence of calcium in these arteries is an indicator of atherosclerosis, or the buildup of plaque, which can lead to heart disease or heart attacks.

We order this testing for our patients regularly, to rule out cardiovascular risk. It's a simple, and inexpensive screening test. Custom preventive nutrition plans are also available to help improve arterial health.

By far the best strength training reference book I have ever read. I have to apologize to the late bodybuilder, Bill Pearl, as his old Keys To The Inner Universe bodybuilding reference was always my weight training bible. Highly recommend, and thanks to Britini Wunsch for the recommendation.
