Obituary For Monica Jaimes Hutson-Throm
Dr. Monica Hutson-Throm, who has spent many of her milestones in Willows, California; has come full circle, from birth to her final resting place.

Born December 15 th , 1978 to James and Nancy Hutson, Monica was the oldest of their four children.
Before graduating Willows High School in 1997, you could find Monica on the softball field, basketball court, playing volleyball or with her 4-H projects.
She continued her education starting with 3 years at Butte College where she continued playing basketball from Butte as far to Europe, and softball from Butte to Hawaii before chasing her passion of becoming a chiropractor.
Monica started a new chapter by attending Cleveland Chiropractic College in Kansas City, Missouri. Not only did she earn her doctorate in Chiropractic Medicine, but her chapters started to overlap when she met the love of her life, Billy Gene Throm from Climax Springs, Missouri.
After graduation, Monica and Billy cemented their love by making their forever vows on the cliffs of Fort Bragg in 2004. Later that same year, they started their private practice and Healing Hands Chiropractic was born. Monica went further and dove into her passion of pediatric chiropractic.
Shortly after Monica and Billy started their dream business, they welcomed the three joys of their lives. Billie Katherine in 2005, Bryson Cole in 2007, and Blake Edward in 2010 completing their family of 5.
Carrying on her memory, Monica is survived by her grandmother Mary Hershkowitz, parents Jim and Nancy Hutson, siblings’ Jake Hutson, Corey (Brian)Richards and Evan Hutson, her nieces and nephews Anthony(Godson) and Lauren Richards, Gabrielle and Danielle Hutson and Connor, Callen and Cole Hutson.
Monica is preceded in death by her sister-in-law Kristina Hutson as well as her 3 uncles and an aunt.
Dr. Monica was a crucial part of our community, participating in all causes both big and small. Her dedication to her children by participating in PTO and Boosters at each level of the school system was just the beginning of how she has touched so many lives. Her Catholic faith was shown though her devotion to Young Ladies Grand Institute # 111
(YLGI), Catholic Youth Organization (CYO), Children’s Faith Formation (CFF) and helping at St Monica’s Catholic Church with any activities that would arise. Monica was a competitive soul that always wanted the best for all the children. Her involvement in coaching - baseball, swim, basketball and soccer, built up the confidence and knowledge of many of the youth in our community.
She would spend countless hours helping, planning and coordinating for the Clover 4-H group and the individual projects she had an interest in such as Swine, Chickens, Arts and Crafts, and Rabbits.
In starting her business, she became an active member of the City of Willows Chamber of Commerce.
Her focus was to educate the community of the benefits of chiropractic care for all ages
with her specialty in pediatrics. To support this initiative, she participated in a nationally
recognized event and organized an event within our small community. Monica was an expert in holistic care, becoming an advisor to many with alternative health care.
In her free time, which as you can see was minimal, her favorite hobby was her children. Billie’s volleyball, Bryson’s Swimming, and Blakes baseball. She was always caring for her 3-busy B’s (Bees) being their #1 fan.
Always one to find a way to have fun, she was the life of the party on girl trips, camping trips, family trips or just a simple backyard BBQ. You could always count on Monica to join in on all family and friendly shenanigans.

Loved by all: Monica’s services will be held on September 19 th, 2025. Rosary at 10:30
AM, mass starting at 11:00 AM @ St Monica’s Catholic Church, 1129 W Wood Street, Willows, CA 95988. Reception to follow at McGoldrick Hall.

If you knew, Monica through one of her many organizations, please make any donations
to the non-profit that she had the biggest impact on you in lieu of flowers.

Monica’s Word to Live By:
Life is an opportunity… benefit from it. Life is a game… Play it. Life is a Dream… realize
it. Life is a challenge… Meet it. Life is a duty… Complete it. Life is Beauty… Admire it.
Life is a promise… Fulfill it. Life is sorrow… Overcome it. Life is a Song… Sing it. Life is
a struggle… Accept it. Life is a Tragedy… confront it. Life is luck… wish it. Life is an
adventure… dare it. Life is life… live it.

F.D. Sweet and Son

F.D. Sweet and Son has been serving families in the Glenn and surrounds Counties since 1929. We help families with planning full service burials and celebrations of life with cremation. Our funeral home is locally owned and operated. Our funeral director has lived in Glenn County all her life. We love being able to reach out and help our families in anyway that we can, and really love all our small town families. You can reach the funeral director or the staff at the office number anytime of the day or night. We don’t have an answering service so when you call you are talking with someone who can help you.

Last year we started a lantern lighting event at the cemeteries in Willows and Orland. Next year we are hoping to expand this to other cemeteries in surrounding counties. In December we have our Annual Service of Remembrance. If you like our page it will keep you updated on services that we have planned, as well as the special events that we put on.
