This is a patient of ours that was gracious enough to allow me to share her story.
I think we all need a little inspiration after the last week we have all had. Most of us walk through life and take little things like walking in the snow, or being able to open our blinds ourselves to see the snow for granted. My job is not only rewarding, but very humbling. I could not complain about the electricity outage or not having water, every week I am reminded how truly blessed I am. I have pts that can’t even scratch their own nose. Can’t get out of bed themselves, once they are put in bed. These patient are some of the most positive and most appreciative people I’ve ever met. They have to rely on electricity to operate their beds, their motorized wheelchairs, their lift chairs and toilet lifts. They are truly dependent on electricity. Meanwhile, many people I know are complaining they are stuck at home without Netflix. I hope you will take a moment and read this story about my patient, my friend and count your blessings.
