Lately… I’ve had to pray for peace more than usual.
Not because I don’t trust God—
but because my heart forgets sometimes.
The noise gets loud. The weight gets heavy.
And I have to stop and hand it over again.

But every time I do… peace comes.
Not all at once. Not always in ways I expect.
But it shows up. Quiet, sure, and strong.

And when I choose to thank Him—even in the mess—
something shifts.
Grace meets me there.
Not because I earned it.
But because He’s just that kind.

Prayer is where I get steady.
Gratitude is where I remember who’s holding me.

“Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.”
—Philippians 4:6 (KJV)

“And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
—Philippians 4:7 (KJV)

Still praying. Still thanking. Still standing.
One quiet moment at a time.

LIFE IS ALWAYS A GIFT.

No matter how it came.
No matter what the world says.
No matter how unready, unplanned, or undone it feels—

New life is still a miracle.
And we will give thanks.

Maybe it wasn't how you pictured it.
Maybe it came in the middle of chaos.
Maybe it brought more questions than answers.

But God doesn't make mistakes.
Every heartbeat was written. Every breath already known.
This life—this child—is not an accident.
It's an answer.

We don’t celebrate because it’s easy.
We celebrate because it’s holy.

“Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.”
—Psalm 127:3 (KJV)

“Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee…”
—Jeremiah 1:5 (KJV)

“This is the Lord’s doing; it is marvellous in our eyes.”
—Psalm 118:23 (KJV)

Whether the path is smooth or stormy, this life has purpose.
And we will speak it. We will protect it.
We will thank Him for it.

Even now.
Especially now.

GRATEFUL EVEN WHEN IT'S NOT WHAT I ASKED FOR

Some help doesn’t come how you pictured it.

You pray for strength—and someone shows up with soup.
You ask for a breakthrough—and someone offers a ride.
You cry for a miracle—and you get a moment of peace.

And maybe it’s not what you wanted.
But it’s what you got.
And sometimes, that’s grace enough.

God sends people. Not always with the perfect fix.
Not always with everything you hoped for.
But with something.
And that something is proof you’re not forgotten.

It’s easy to miss the blessing when you're focused on the lack.
But provision doesn’t always shout. Sometimes it just shows up.

Be grateful anyway.

“And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.”
—Colossians 3:15 (KJV)

“Give us this day our daily bread.”
—Matthew 6:11 (KJV)

“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above…”
—James 1:17 (KJV)

You’re not being overlooked. You’re being carried.
Even now.

đź’› A Story That Stays With You đź’›

Last year, a mom shared something that stopped me in my tracks.

Her daughter, 6 years old, wheelchair-bound, nonverbal…
had never been invited to a birthday party.
Not once.

But one afternoon, they got a call from a new friend’s mom:
“We’d love for your daughter to come. We’ll have space for her chair and a quiet corner if she gets overstimulated.”

The mom said she cried in her car for 30 minutes.
Not because of the party—
but because someone saw her child as worth planning around.
Not a burden.
Not an afterthought.
But wanted.

She said,

> “That one invitation changed how we saw the world. And how the world started seeing us.”

If you’re the parent who’s never gotten that invite—
or the child who’s never been thought of first
please know this:

You are worthy of joy, of ease, of being seen.

Your child is not invisible.
They are incredible.

She asked me once if God made a mistake.

Tiny voice. Big question.
She was 7 and trying to zip a coat over a G-tube. Frustrated, teary, brave.

And I’ll never forget how she said it—
"If He can do anything… why did He make me different?"

I froze. Because there’s no band-aid Bible verse for that.
No easy answers when a child is questioning her worth with eyes wide open.

But I took a breath, sat on the floor, and held her hand.
And I said what the Holy Ghost gave me:

“Honeycomb, you weren’t made wrong. You were made rare.”

Not broken. Not overlooked. Not less-than.
Just rare. Like a comet. Like a fingerprint.
Like a story God only writes once.

And maybe the world doesn’t know how to read stories like hers yet.
But we’re here to help it learn.

That’s the heart behind SAYF.
soul-deep belief in every child’s design.
And we’re not covering up differences.
We’re honoring them.

"Her Name Is Junie"

They said she might never walk.
They said "quality of life" like it was something out of reach.
But her name is Junie, and she rewrites every script they hand her.

Junie was born with spina bifida. Doctors painted cautious futures, but her mama saw something different from the start—bright eyes, loud spirit, and joy that couldn’t be measured in milestones.

The first time Junie got her pink wheelchair, she zoomed through the hospital halls like she was racing toward destiny. Nurses cried. Her dad cheered. And Junie? She just grinned like it was the most natural thing in the world.

She paints with her toes. She sings louder than the rain. She picks outfits that match her mood—glitter for brave days, soft cotton for tired ones. And every time she rolls into a room, she reminds us: there’s no such thing as “less than.”

At SAYF —we celebrate kids like Junie. Kids with stories. With courage. With light.

Drop yours below! We would love to hear your story!

“The Backpack”
For every parent walking this road with extra weight and deeper grace.

I used to picture motherhood like a light hike—some uphill, some breezy paths, but overall something I could manage. Then came my child, and with them, came a backpack I didn’t expect.

At first, it felt like everyone else had packed snacks and water bottles while mine came loaded with doctor’s visits, therapy appointments, sleepless nights, and a stack of unanswered questions. I’d watch other kids run ahead on the trail while we took two steps and needed to rest. I'd smile when people said, “You're so strong,” but most days, I didn’t feel strong. I felt tired. Lonely. Frustrated.

But over time, something strange happened.

I stopped comparing backpacks.
I started noticing how mine—though heavy—was filled with beauty.

There were notes scribbled in crayon from my nonverbal child that meant more than whole conversations. There were joyful moments no one else could see—like the way he lit up when he finally got up on the couch without help and I yelled "good job kayden" or held his spoon and chocolate pudding himself.
There were lessons in patience, humility, and unconditional love that changed who I was.

Yes, there are hard days. Days I cry in my car. Days I wonder why the world wasn’t made with ramps and room for kids like mine. But there is also joy—deep, soul-thumping joy. The kind that sneaks in during playtime giggles, wheelchair races down hallways, and silent victories that only we understand.

So I carry this backpack.
Not because it’s easy.
But because it’s mine—and inside it, I carry him.

And he is the most breathtaking journey I’ve ever known.

MEET LIA: Little Legs, Big Victory

When Lia was born with spina bifida, doctors gently prepared her parents for a quiet, limited life. But Lia had other plans.

By 18 months, she was using her arms to scoot across the living room floor, chasing her big brother with wild giggles. By 3, she was fitted for her first wheelchair and zoomed down the sidewalk like it was her runway.

Lia’s mom once said, “She doesn’t just roll—she arrives.”
From dance class in her chair to finger painting with her toes, Lia is joy in motion.

Her latest victory? Learning to transfer from her chair to the couch by herself. It may seem small to some, but in this house, that moment was met with tears, claps, and a chocolate milk toast.

Lia reminds us: strength doesn’t always walk—sometimes, it wheels.
At SAYF, we celebrate every inch of progress, every brave first, and every child like Lia—unstoppable in their own way.
