What a fantastic year it has been for us at Wildlife Water Schools! Here's a look at all the incredible things we've accomplished together:

🌟 New Beginnings: We proudly opened 6 brand-new locations this summer, expanding our reach and bringing swim safety to even more communities!

👩‍🏫 Growing Our Team: Our family grew with lots of new hires! We’re thrilled to have expanded our passionate team dedicated to teaching swim lessons.

🔍 New Location Found: After a thorough search, we finally found a new main location that suits our needs—exciting times ahead!

We are excited to announce that Wildlife Water School is hiring! We are a swim school dedicated to teaching kids with and without disabilities, aged 6 months to 17 years, specializing in adaptive swimming.

What makes us unique? We are committed to expanding our reach to serve as many children as possible. If you tell us your location, we will strive to find a pool near you or offer private home pool options.

Big News: Wildlife Water School is pleased to announce that we will be renting the Greensburg YMCA facility starting this winter!

We are a specialized swim school catering to children with and without disabilities since 2021. Our expertise lies in adaptive swimming instruction for ages 6 months to 17 years.

We plan to utilize the East Allegheny high school pool and Greensburg YMCA facilities on Sunday afternoons during the winter months.

Job Title: Swim Instructors and Lifeguards

About Us:
Wildlife Water School is dedicated to teaching children, both with and without disabilities, the essential skill of swimming in a supportive and engaging environment. Our mission is to foster a love for water safety and swimming while ensuring that each child feels included and empowered.

Position Overview:
We are looking for passionate Swim Instructors and Lifeguards who are committed to providing high-quality swim instruction and ensuring the safety of our young swimmers. This position requires flexibility, a love for working with children, and the ability to adapt to various situations, including last-minute schedule changes.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide swim instruction to children in a safe, fun, and inclusive environment.
- Ensure the safety of all participants by monitoring pool activities and enforcing safety rules.
- Travel to the Greensburg YMCA and East Allegheny locations for scheduled classes. (Possibly moving back to Wilmerding Community Center)
- Participate in paid online training sessions.
- Establish positive relationships with children and their families, fostering a supportive atmosphere.

Requirements:
- Must be able to pass a background check, fingerprinting, and child clearances.
- Flexibility to accommodate changes in schedule and travel between locations from 12:15 PM to 2:30 PM and 3:45 PM to 6:30 PM.
- Must be at least 15 years old and willing to commit to long-term, year-round employment.
- Love for working with kids and comfort in engaging with children with disabilities.
- Prior experience as a swimmer is preferred, as well as current lifeguard certification.

Compensation:
- Paid for a total of 5 hours and 45 minutes, with 45 minutes of paid travel time and a 30-minute unpaid break.
-$12 per day vehicle mileage reimbursement

Hi everyone! Wildlife Water School, LLC is potentially hiring!

We are potentially hiring more instructors for 2026. Sundays for 2 hours and 15 minutes for one location and 2 hours and 45 minutes at the other.

This is still in the works, but we would need to find more workers before that to prepare. We would likely do in an in water training day on December 28th 3:15-6:00pm.

Requirements:
- Able to work long term, over the entire year when we are open with long term commitment (3+ years)
-15 years old or older
-Must be able to get background checked, child clearances, and fingerprinting
- Must be able to travel between and to Greensburg and East Allegheny/Wilmerding
-Commited to long term
-Flexible schedule and adaptability
-Prior experience working with kids
-Willing to adapt to schedule changes, working hours, last minute substitutions, and more
-Must be a strong swimmer
-Excellent communication skills
-Opportunities to earn more pay over the years

Preferences:
-Has prior experience helping those with disabilities
-is willing to get an adaptive swim certification (6 hour paid online training)
-has prior swimming competition experience
-would be interested in future management & growth opportunities
-Lifeguard certified

New Year- New Lessons!

We are fully booked with packages until the new year, but due to recent and possibly upcoming adjustments, we may have the opportunity to accommodate a few singular lessons for our Swim with Santa event or right before the holidays. If you’re interested, feel free to message Vicky for more information.

We’ve submitted our application for January through May at East Allegheny High School, and we’re incredibly thankful for this wonderful facility. We waited to submit our request until we had the chance to start our sessions to ensure it was the right fit for us. We’re looking forward to their board meeting on January 12, 2026, for approval, and if all goes well, classes will kick off on either January 11 or January 18.

Signups for the winter session 2026 will begin in early to mid-January once we get the green light. We’re introducing a monthly plan that will automatically renew, making it easy for you while still allowing you to book specific days.

And speaking of planning, we’re already looking ahead to summer! While we just have been idealizing our plans, we might return to Wilmerding, or stay at East Allegheny, revisit some favorite outdoor pools, and offer wildlife safari lessons (where we come to your pool!). There’s also a chance we might explore some new locations.
