It’s time to add Yoga Nidra to your personal practice!
Join Courtney Riley for a 90 minute Yoga Nidra and gentle yoga class.
During our time together, there will be 5 minutes of discussion of Yoga Nidra and creation of your Sankalpa/ Intention, 50 Minutes of gentle yoga postures to loosen your spine, increase your breath capacity, and unwind; all in preparation for your 35-40 minutes progressive relaxation practice called Yoga Nidra.
The process of Yoga Nidra is truly accessible for anyone who can comfortably lay on the ground. To practice Yoga Nidra, you will lay on the floor with supportive props to make the body as relaxed and at ease as possible. This class is appropriate for any level of practitioner.
What is Yoga Nidra?
In Yoga Nidra, practitioners are guided through relaxing breath work and visualization by spoken word. Then, gently brought back to the conscious state. In this yoga nidra class, we will also work on setting a sankalpa, or focused resolution.
The deeply relaxed state of Yoga Nidra cultivates an excellent place to seed an intention, a sankalpa. The sankalpa is a short mental statement which is impressed on the subconscious mind when it is receptive and sensitive to auto-suggestion during yoga nidra.
