What are you feeling angry about? Can you follow the anger back to the part of yourself that is feeling sad, lonely, and helpless? How old were you when you first remember feeling that way? THIS is

This is such a powerful quote and one that is so important for us all to remember, especially if we are parents or work with children.

Anger, violent outbursts, shouting and yelling, particularly if prolonged or recurrent all mask feelings of anxiety, sadness, worry and grief. .

To lessen these undesirable behaviours, we have to understand what is happening to cause the underlying feelings of β€˜dis-ease’. We have to make the child feel happy, calm, loved and supported again. If we punish, shame, exclude or chastise we only add to the sad feelings that are causing the anger. .and ultimately, we make it worse.
