Thinking of all of our adored teachers/district staff that are stepping into this well-deserved summer break! We wish you countless mornings of sleeping in, family time that nurtures those relationships and vacations that fill your soul. Mostly we wish that you are able to find stillness, intention and time for you.

Sign up for that yoga class you normally can’t attend. Go to the farmers market for the freshest ingredients for that meal you never have time to make. Spend the entire day outdoors, disconnected. In other words…reset, reevaluate, renew.

Real Talk. Today was one of those days that demanded a mental health day. You know the one. You wake up and recognize that you just don’t have the bandwidth for the planned day ahead. And instead of pushing through, you opt to cancel your amazing plans with friends so you can simply sit on the couch in sweats and eat frozen/pantry foods all day. Yep, that’s the one!

While it’s understandable that this isn’t always possible, it’s worth asking…
”When was the last time that you consciously chose you?” If it’s been a while, what small thing can you do for yourself today? This week? This month? How can you say “no” to ____ and “yes” to you? And eventually, how can you also plan ahead for breaks?

In this week’s final online class, we discussed the power of phytonutrients, vitamins and minerals. These nutrition powerhouses not only make our plates more beautiful but serve as HUGE immune boosters too! Whether you are looking for antioxidant power, fiber and/or support with a recent health concern, we recommend getting as many colors of the rainbow into your diet as possible (and as well-tolerated).

With that said, the average American is eating only one serving of fruits/vegetables each day. So…if that applies to you and you’re not sure where to begin…let us help! It’s week 4 of our online health series and this week is all about FATS! We get it… fat can be a very taboo subject, especially if you grew up in the 80s/90s with the low-fat craze. 🙃

At Renew, we’re big believers of keeping this super tasty, super important macronutrient in our meal plans. After all, fat is needed to aid with vitamin absorption, hormone production, organ, tissue and brain health. It’s also a magical ingredient for those seeking assistance with blood sugar stabilization. ✨

But perhaps most importantly, FAT = FLAVOR! 💥

So this week, let’s celebrate fat by adding an extra drizzle of your favorite olive oil or go all out with a salmon poke bowl, topped with avocado and spicy mayo! In other words, let go of that fat phobia and lean into all of that flavor! We’ll be right there with you! 🥑

It’s Friday, which means it’s not only the weekend (yay!) but we have also just finished up another week of our group classes and this week was all about CARBS! That delicious, creamy, salty and/or sweet portion of your plate that is what all dreams are made of! 😋

In case you couldn’t tell, we believe in the power (and pleasure) of carbohydrates and love teaching our anti-diet approach to our online group of teachers and staff. We also love gifting each participant with our new 8-page handout on this subject, highlighting why carbohydrates are beneficial vs evil. As a bonus, each handout provides recipes!! 🎉

In this week’s online course, we are talking all things protein! What exactly is it? What foods are naturally rich in protein? (Hint: plant-based foods are delicious options too). How do we know if we’re getting “enough?”

For those in search for ways to boost your protein, try this easy buffalo dip as a snack! It packs a whopping 15 grams of protein per serving and most importantly, tastes delicious! Serve with your favorite dippers, dollop on potatoes or spread on any sandwich! Enjoy!

Buffalo Dip
- 16 oz cottage cheese (we love Good Culture)
- 2 T buffalo/hot sauce
- 1-2 T ranch seasoning
- 2 t chopped chives
Blend until smooth and creamy!

Have things been hectic lately? We’ve been hearing a lot of clients (and ourselves too) saying that life has felt like a tornado lately. If you’ve been feeling that too, here’s a little reminder that it’s okay to just do less. Drop the Plan A “thing” that is causing you stress and go for the more approachable Plan B.

Go for a walk vs a run. Take a couch nap instead of folding clothes. Don’t feel like cooking? Order a colorful meal to-go. Wherever you are, remember that progress is progress is progress. Cheers to Plan B everyone!!

You guys!!! It’s homemade Reese’s! And we couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate Friday than with one of these delicious bars!

PB Base Layer:
1 cup creamy peanut butter
1 cup almond flour
1/4 cup maple syrup
Blend together

Chocolate Layer:
1 cup dark chocolate chips
1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
Melt the chocolate, mix the 1/2 cup PB and freeze. Then cut and devour!
