Kudos to actress Kristen Wiig for sharing her experience with in vitro fertilization and ! Wiig has recently opened up about the struggle she and her husband, Avi Rothman, faced before finally welcoming their twins Shiloh and Luna in 2020.

“When you go through it, you meet other people who are going through it, and it’s almost like this secret little — the whispering conversation at a party. Why don’t all embryos grow the same? 🤔 It's a great question, and one we receive often. Although patients may have several embryos developing post-IVF retrieval, they don’t always reach their full potential. Embryos may look similar at some stages, but differ greatly over time, due to chromosome imbalances or from simply lacking "energy." Today's video illustrates this; the embryo on the right develops in a healthy manner, while the example on the left fails to continue growing.
