Join us this Saturday for our Neurodiversity Gaming Groups! We've had a short break from groups with all of the holidays, but we've had lots of kids asking when the next groups will be. These groups are meant to be an safe space where kids can be themselves, have fun, and make friends. Refreshments and beverages will be provided so parents can hangout and connect while the kids play.

Join us this Saturday at 10:00 AM for a book reading of Bubbs in Space by local author Emily Jean Barnhill. Bubbs in Space is an exciting space-themed children's book about autism awareness. We will also have an outer space slime making activity. Refreshments and beverages will be provided so parents can hangout and connect.

So excited to introduce everyone to our absolutely incredible Physical Therapist Renea! As Power Up Therapy has grown from one therapist to four, it was important to me to find the best therapists and people to join the team. I truly can't wait for everyone to meet the wonderful therapists joining the Power Up team! We are so lucky to have Renea, and I know she is going to be a tremendous asset to our clinic. She has a wealth of knowledge, and if anyone can help your child meet their PT goals, it's her!

Renea has 28 years of experience as a physical therapist and has discovered her greatest passion is in the field of pediatrics. She is dedicated to helping children of all ages achieve their mobility goals and optimize their physical abilities. Renea has served children through early intervention, in preschool and school settings, home environments, and outpatient clinics. She has experience with infants and children of all ages with developmental delays, neurological disorders, and orthopedic conditions. She is committed to working alongside families to develop individualized therapy plans to meet each child’s specific needs. Outside of the clinic, Renea enjoys spending time with her family and friends, reading, gardening, and cheering for the TarHeels.

Our friends at ACCESS of Wilmington have some awesome adaptive sports and events coming up. Their accessible baseball league starts tomorrow February 22nd.

Today I wanted to highlight our awesome sensory gyms. We put in a lot of work to ensure our gyms are accessible and meet the needs of the kids receiving therapy. It's important to me that the therapists at Power Up Therapy have the best tools and equipment at their disposal so they can provide the best services to the children in the community. With our new clinic it has always been about doing therapy right, not cheaply.

Join us Saturday February 8th for a day of Valentine's themed neurodiversity groups and parent meetups! We are going to have a variety of activities ranging from Valentine's mailbox making, cookie decorating, sensory gym activities, and video gaming.

Power Up Therapy continues to grow! My goal for Power Up Therapy has always been to create the best pediatric clinic possible. Part of that vision has been to focus exclusively on pediatrics so that Power Up Therapy can be tailored to the needs of our pediatric clients and our staff can specialize in providing the best care to youth in the community. We've gotten so many compliments from families about what makes Power Up Therapy different (the facility, our approach to therapy, being neurodiversity affirming, etc).

As Power Up Therapy has begun to grow, it's been important to me to assemble a team that can continue to make Power Up Therapy even better. I am beyond excited for everyone to meet the incredible PT, SLP, and COTA we have coming onboard! I have no doubt these therapists are going to do amazing things. If your child could benefit from OT, PT, or Speech give our office a call!

Feeling festive and having fun in OT today. Gingerbread houses are a great building activity with lots of opportunities to work on fine motor skills, practice using utensils, and opening food packaging.

Excited to announce our neurodiversity groups for December 7th! We’ll be doing two gingerbread house building and decorating groups and two gaming groups.

Tickets are only needed for kids participating in the groups. Adults and family that are not participating do not need a ticket.
