Making Waves Counseling & Wellness is excited to share a new trauma-focused offering coming to the practice this spring: Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART). This approach supports the nervous system in gently processing difficult memories, creating space for relief, clarity, and steadiness. It’s being offered with the same care, warmth, and intention that guides all work at the practice.

Read more about ART and what it can offer here:

This new approach expands m...

Beginning April 2026, I’ll be offering Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART).

It supports resolution without overwhelm and fits naturally into the way I approach trauma-informed care.

More details to come.

Do you ever feel like you’re holding everything together on the outside, but inside you’re always ā€˜on’? Many women live with silent, high-functioning anxiety without realizing it. My latest post dives into the signs and why it matters.

Anxiety in women doesn’t always look like panic. Learn how silent, high-functioning anxiety shows up in daily life and why being ā€œfineā€ all the time can come at a cost.

As the year comes to a close, I’m reflecting with gratitude on the clients, growth, and lessons that shaped this past year at Making Waves Counseling and Wellness 🌊

In my latest blog, I share highlights from the year, celebrate our 2nd birthday, and talk about why my word for 2026 is growth—and what that means for healing, expansion, and what’s ahead.

If you’ve been thinking about therapy or are simply in a season of reflection yourself, I hope this resonates.

As the year comes to a close, I’m reflecting with deep gratitude—for the clients who trusted me with their stories, the growth of Making Waves Counseling and Wellness, and the lessons that continue to shape my work as a therapist. This year was about showing up, expanding access to care, and hon...

Strong. Capable. Independent.

But for many accomplished women, asking for help feels… impossible.

Hyperindependence is often a survival mechanism, not a choice. Childhood conditioning and attachment wounds can make vulnerability feel unsafe — even when we desperately need connection.

My latest blog dives into why asking for help is so hard and how self-compassion can change the game.

šŸ“– Read it here: https://www.makingwavescounselingwellness.com/post/why-asking-for-help-feels-impossible-for-the-hyper-independent-woman

Why is asking for help so hard for strong, accomplished women? Hyperindependence often looks like confidence, but underneath it lies old conditioning, unmet emotional needs, and attachment wounds that taught us vulnerability wasn’t safe. This blog explores why relying on others feels dangerous —...

Navigating the cost of mental health care can feel overwhelming, and we understand that paying out of pocket isn’t always feasible. We’re grateful to be able to accept a wide range of insurance plans to help make therapy more accessible for our clients.
For those who prefer added privacy or are navigating gaps in healthcare coverage—especially with the uncertainty surrounding coverage in 2026—we also offer private pay options. We respect that everyone’s situation is unique, and sometimes choosing to pay out of pocket for the provider who feels like the best fit is what matters most.
If you’re unsure whether we’re in network with your plan or want to explore private pay, we’re here to help. Reach out anytime, and we’ll guide you through your options with care. šŸ’›

At Making Waves Counseling & Wellness, we love voicemails. Our confidential voicemail box lets you know that all calls are returned within 48 business hours—and here’s a fun fact: every call is personally received and returned by our clinician and owner. šŸ’™
We ask new clients to leave a voicemail so we can thoughtfully prioritize client sessions and ensure everyone receives the attention they deserve.
Not a fan of calling or feeling a bit anxious about it? No worries—Gen Z and phone-call-averse friends, we see you. You’re welcome to text the same number or reach us through our new website contact form, which goes straight to our clinician.
