At Nemours Children’s Health, we believe every child deserves hope, and families like Logan’s are finding it through gene therapy for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD).
Logan, who was adopted from China, has faced DMD with incredible strength. Thanks to care led by Dr. Abdul Hamid, our pediatric neurologist, he received a one-time gene therapy infusion that could slow the progression of this life-limiting disease.
While there’s no cure yet, this breakthrough offers families more time and more moments, like casting a fishing line with the people you love.
We’re proud to be at the forefront of treatments that target the root cause of DMD, helping kids like Logan stay stronger, longer.

A full-circle moment at our Delaware Hospital! 🩵 As a teenager, Patrick was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. He knew he wanted to be a doctor and secured a mentor in Daniel Doyle, a pediatric endocrinologist. After completing his fellowship training, and years of guidance from Dr. Doyle, Patrick joined the Delaware endocrinology team, caring for patients with diabetes. With the support of his wife, son, and soon-to-be new daughter, Patrick is completing a life-long vision of caring for patients with a similar diagnosis.
