The Pitt scored big at the 2025 Emmy Awards and while the show got most of its medical moments right, CPR is one area where Hollywood misses the mark.
To be fair, actors can’t receive real chest compressions (it could break ribs and alter blood pressure). But in real life, proper CPR can save lives. Paramedic David Glendenning shares what you need to know:
💪 Depth and pace matter: Push at least 2 inches deep and aim for 100-110 compressions per minute.
🎶 Use a beat: Songs like Stayin’ Alive or Row, Row, Row Your Boat help you keep the right rhythm under pressure.
🖐 Hands-only works: In the first few minutes of adult sudden cardiac arrest, hands-only CPR can be just as effective as conventional CPR.
