Vote YES on Article 2!
ATTENTION ALL WILMINGTON, VT RESIDENTS:
The town of Wilmington, Vermont is holding an Australian Ballot on Tuesday, March 4th. 7am - 7pm at the old school community center. 1 School St., Wilmington, VT.
This vote will ban any other cannabis establishments from opening a business within the Wilmington Township. I think we can all agree that for a town the size of ours - two is all we need.
We at Matterhorn Apothecary feel that by voting YES, the residents of Wilmington, Vermont will be saving the town from over saturation by capping retail cannabis establishments to the two current license holders as recommended by the Vermont State Cannabis Control Board.
In a direct quote from the Brattleboro Reformer as written by Chris Mays:
βIn the last legislative session, lawmakers gave the CCB authority over retail siting. They saw oversaturation in some communities as an issue, Pepper said.
New rules sent to the Legislative Committee on Administrative Rules (LCAR) would limit the number of cannabis retailers to two in a town or city the size of Wilmington. Pepper said the rules were filed with the Secretary of Stateβs Office, starting a notice and public comment period that runs through February.
Finalization is anticipated to occur in March. Pepper said LCAR will look at the rules, public comments and responses from the CCB before determining if the rules are in line with their legislative intent.β
The Vermont Cannabis Control Board has put a halt on new licenses in towns like ours in order to prevent over-saturation. Facts are facts.
Donβt let people with the wrong intentions influence the local economy and municipal law with BIASED efforts that ONLY SUIT THEIR BEST INTERESTS!
