Being there for someone with breast cancer shows incredible strength. But caregivers can also carry heavy emotions. It’s important to care for yourself along the way. Take small moments for self-care (a short walk, deep breaths, journaling). Reach out to trusted friends or support groups. Use helplines when you need someone to listen. You are not alone in this journey. Support is here for you as much as it is for the person you love.

Fatigue is one of the most common side effects during and after breast cancer treatment. It’s more than just being tired, it can feel like your body is carrying extra weight every single day.

Here are a few gentle ways to care for yourself:
Create rest cycles- short naps or quiet breaks can help recharge without disrupting sleep at night. Fuel with balance- whole foods, plenty of water, and smaller frequent meals can keep energy steady.
Move lightly- a slow walk, gentle stretching, or yoga can actually boost energy and reduce fatigue.
Most importantly, listen to your body without guilt. Rest is not weakness, it’s part of healing.

In many communities of color, breast cancer screenings can save lives. But too often, women don’t have easy access, and that means some are diagnosed too late.
Why it matters: Getting screened regularly can help find breast cancer earlier, when it’s easier to treat and survival rates are higher. For women of color, screenings can help close long-standing gaps in health care. You deserve access to screenings, follow-up care, and support that respects your culture and needs. Everyone’s breast health matters.
