Emergency shelters remain open for residents who are without power, displaced, or in unsafe living conditions.

Warming Centers DE: Shelters are operating at Dover High School, 1 Dover High Drive in Dover, and Sussex Central Middle School, 26026 Patriots Way in Georgetown. Both facilities are staffed and pet-friendly. Residents who need shelter are advised to bring medications and personal hygiene items. Those bringing pets should also bring pet food, medications, a leash, and vaccination records. Shelters will remain open until further notice. Call 211 for assistance.

UPDATE: Wilmington VA Medical Center VA Clinics in Delaware and southern New Jersey (Sussex, Kent, Cape May, Cumberland & Atlantic County) will be closed today, Monday, Feb 23rd due to inclement weather. Individuals from the Wilmington VA (WVA), Vet Center and Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) were recognized on Feb. 19th for their outreach efforts in Delaware by the Sussex County Vietnam Veterans of America. Approxiamtely 80 Veterans, their families and community members attended to hear updates and ask questions to Wilmington VA leadership. Resources provided included, claims, VA health care enrollment, su***de prevention, whole health, patient advocacy and Vet Center behavioral health.
