• Our Headquarters is located in Raleigh, NC with Engineering/Manufacturing in Wilmington, NC.
• We supply N2 Generators into a multitude of markets; Power Plant, Fire Protection System, Food Packaging, Food Storage, Medical, Automotive, Educational/University, Military, Corrosion Control (power plant and FPS), Laboratory, Food Service, Pharmaceutical, Chemical, R&D, Materials, etc., Industries. i.e., everywhere one requires N2 in the gas form (not cryo/liquid form).
• We design and manufacture N2 generators from the size of a small briefcase (1 LPM) on up to the size of a 4 car garage (50,000 SCFH), outputting N2 purities ranging from 95% on up to 99.9995. Hence we can design N2 Generating systems for all N2 applications (SCFH and purity requirements) and our customers realize significant savings over purchasing nitrogen from gas companies who supply high pressure cylinders…..you basically generate your own nitrogen on demand and you never run out.
• We have GSA certification and provide systems to the Gov’t be it for Laboratory (USDA), Military base, facilities, etc. We have over 250 portable systems on the back of Humvees in Iraq/ Afghanistan (also worldwide) for field repair of optical equipment (purging with N2 after the repair of thermal optics for gun sites and personnel usage). Hence reliability, durability, and cost effectiveness is of paramount concern in our designs.
• Our Patent Pending N2-Blast® - FPS Corrosion Inhibiting System has already been installed into a multitude of Dry and Pre-Action systems to inhibit corrosion. We have done our research and the market potential for this offering is quite significant as the N2-Blast is an extremely economical, reliable, hands off, method of ensuring from an corrosion standpoint, the end user’s FPS piping yields its maximum life expectancy. The N2-Blast has all options required (AutoPurge System™, Quick-Check™- O2/N2 Purity Analyzer, corrosion monitoring, associated piping/fittings, etc.,) to ensure N2 purity has been reached throughout the piping system, with a window in and out (communication) to the FPS Alarm system and/or Building Management System. We also have the BlastOff™ - Leak Detection System that will warn if the fps piping system is starting to leak at the couplings, fittings, valves, to an excessive/alarming condition, prior to the fps system tripping due to low supervisory pressure……a very helpful, prevention option.
• To give some further background; Nitrogen molecules, making up 79% of the air we breathe, can be mechanically “filtered” out of the air and in turn can be available, on demand, for the FPS. As you know, on dry or pre-action systems, after hydro-testing, residual water lies in piping, causing the piping to corrode and/or MIC occurs. We are seeing a growing need for nitrogen to be used to provide “supervisory pressure” within the FPS piping. Where you have oxygen, you have oxidation and/or MIC. If you eliminate oxygen, you eliminate corrosion. Hence, use Nitrogen gas as your supervisory gas and you eliminate oxidation/corrosion. Another benefit of using nitrogen gas versus other chemicals to inhibit internal FPS piping corrosion/MIC is that Nitrogen is “green”. Nitrogen is clean and abundant, and if nitrogen is ever purged from the piping system, it simply dissipates into the air immediately.
• More and more facilities with dry or pre-action systems are uncovering corrosion and/or MIC within their FPS piping and are replacing their air compressors providing supervisory pressure with banks of Nitrogen cylinders....with the goal in mind to significantly extend the life of the piping. The Nitrogen cylinders are costly, require a higher level of care to handle these 2,500 PSI bottles (are a potential safety issue for the facilities maintenance personnel), and the facilities personnel need to ensure there are no untimely Nitrogen cylinder run-outs. Our Nitrogen Generator technology can eliminate the need for these Nitrogen cylinders or chemical inhibitors.
• A few high profile past projects include: Nuclear Regulatory Commission, Freddy Mac, Harvard University, Colgate, Discovery Channel, Johnson & Johnson, GE, Marriott Hotels, Qwest Data Center, Equinix, Purdue University, Lambeau Field, TransUnion, etc. The N2-Blast® – Corrosion Inhibiting System was specifically designed to inhibit problematic corrosion within Dry and Pre-action Fire Protection Systems. The system produces high purity Nitrogen on site within the riser room and feeds it through the Air Maintenance Device into the Fire Protection System. Nitrogen, being an inert, safe gas, is used to inhibit internal corrosion by eliminating the electrochemical potential (i.e. removing the 20.9% oxygen within the air). Without the oxygen, both anaerobic and aerobic bacteria cannot thrive and Galvanic, Electrochemical, and Microbiologically Influenced Corrosion (MIC) are inhibited. Hence, the use of Nitrogen gas as the supervisory gas instead of compressed air. More and more facilities are uncovering corrosion and/or MIC in their Dry or Pre-action systems, which can render their fire protection systems inoperative in the event of an emergency. Scaling and/or tubercles can lead to increased friction factors (i.e. hydraulic calculations are no longer valid) as well as potential sprinkler head blockages. Replacing the existing air compressor with our Nitrogen generation system ensures the integrity of a Fire Protection System. Installation of these systems is simple and preventative maintenance is minimal.
