💙Screening begins at age 45, unless you are experiencing symptoms such as bleeding, changes in your bowel habits, pain, or unintentional weight loss. A family history of may also indicate an earlier screening age.

💙Colorectal cancer is preventable and treatable when caught early. Prevention and early detection are KEY!

💙Talk to your provider if you have ANY questions or concerns. They will be happy to discuss any symptoms or changes you may be experiencing, as well as recommend the best screening option for your specific scenario.

We warmed our hearts AND our hands recently by celebrating yet another ☀️Sunshine Award ☀️ winner, Amy! Please join us in congratulating her, and enjoy the wonderful story shared below from her nominator as just one example of the compassionate care she provides day in and day out. Congratulations Amy! 🎉

"I am honored to nominate Amy for the Sunshine Award. During my recent visit to the Brunswick Forest office, I came in with significant neck pain and some anxiety about what might be causing it. From the moment Amy greeted me, she immediately put me at ease. She was warm, attentive, and genuinely human in her approach—she made me feel like a person, not just a patient on the schedule.

Amy demonstrated what Human-Centered Care truly means. She took the time to listen carefully, showed empathy in every word, and made sure I felt heard and comfortable before any evaluation even began. Her professionalism was matched by her kindness, and her calm reassurance transformed what could have been a stressful visit into one of the best experiences I’ve had in any medical office.

She also embodied Access for All – Make It Easy by helping me navigate the visit seamlessly and ensuring I understood what was happening at each step. Her confidence and clear communication reflected World-Class Expertise, giving me peace of mind that I was in excellent hands. Finally, Amy’s caring nature and attention to my well-being showed Purposeful Innovation, as she anticipated my needs and made the entire encounter feel personal and meaningful.

In short, Amy turned an ordinary appointment into a reminder of what compassionate, human-centered healthcare should feel like. Her kindness and professionalism truly reflect the values that make Novant Health exceptional."

What better way to warm up during this cold winter weather than a 🌞SUNSHINE AWARD!🌞

We are recognizing our most recent Sunshine Award winner, Hannah! Her nominator writes: “Exemplary! I was so happy to see Hannah again! She remembered me! (Or she pretended very well!) She is very welcoming and completely professional. I appreciate how thorough she is as well. Hannah does not just “do vitals” but she also reports the numbers back to me and answers my questions/concerns. I never feel rushed with her, either. A glowing smile and soft voice is exactly what I would have hoped for in switching insurance and moving to this coast - and I got it! She makes the perfect team partner for the lovely Dr. Bird.”

🎉 Congratulations Hannah, thank you for making this patient’s move such a warm and welcoming one! 🎉
