I had a different plan.
Wake up, drink coffee, work a little, and attack a zillion projects.
After all, 48 hours sans children is a rare occurrence.
You know what happens when you make plans?
They go to pot.
Instead of a leisurely morning yesterday, I woke up to a text from my almost 13 year old with a photo of a busted chin.
Hers, evidently.
She assumed it was from an errant tennis ball, but upon further questioning from her mother, it was concluded that she simply fell out of bed.
I sent the photo to our nice doctor at home who said yes to needing stitches.
I began the scramble to find a plastic surgeon in a town that’s not my own.
A dear friend sent me suggestions and I started calling.
The first place was a firm no, no way, never gonna happen.
The second place, Wilmington Plastic Surgery and Skin Care MedSpa, listened and said yes.
My new best friend Jennie had me send a photo, texted me documents to sign and found us an amazing surgeon.
Mark Morgan said yes, too.
Worked my sweet girl in before his afternoon appointments started.
Explained the process to her and when she yowled that the shot would be in her chin rather than her arm, he and I both laughed.
She asked me, “Can we at least go to Lululemon?”
“In my day, we got suckers,” he said and we laughed again.
A half dozen tiny perfect stitches on a not so willing patient.
A mama whose plans flew out the window with the text from a twelve year old.
A doctor’s office willing to go out of their way to treat a little girl from out of town.
I left feeling so thankful.
Thankful for a little extra time with my girl.
Thankful for a car ride with Tom Petty loud and windows down.
Thankful for a quick visit with the friend who found me Dr. Morgan.
Thankful for a fun tennis camp at UNC Wilmington that my daughter was eager to get back to after stitches/ lululemon.
As for all those plans?
They’re not real life, at least not one I know.
Messy chaos is pretty awesome, too.
Thanks again, Dr. Morgan.
And, I’m sorry she called you a liar, but at least it was because- “You said it was going to hurt and it didn’t.”
Winning.

Dr. White and his team are absolutely the best! I recently underwent surgery and from the moment I went in for a consultation to now, the recovery timeframe, all aspects of this process have been amazing thanks to Dr. White and the staff at WPS. I can’t thank you all enough for the care and support you all have provided. You truly care and it shows in your dedication to patient care. I’m excited to continue my healing journey and have no doubts the end results will be amazing. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Brochures are an amazing way to get info out to your customers + clients. 💭
Creating an eye catching cover is something to think about when going this route. 👀
Don’t worry about the small stuff, let us handle it! ✔️
Here’s one of our eye-catching brochures we created for Wilmington Plastic Surgery and Skin Care MedSpa. Awesome right? 👀
5/28/19 I had a breast reduction procedure with Dr.Morgan. The overall process from pre-op, surgery, and then post op all went better than I could’ve ever imagined. By before and after are absolutely incredible. I couldn’t have asked for a better surgeon or experience.
