Today we’re looking back at a timeless moment captured outside McNeill’s Drug Store in downtown Whiteville, NC in the 1940s-50s. These young women captured in the photo remind us of simpler times and the strong community roots that have shaped who we are today.

Liberty’s legacy has always been built on people, connection and community, and we are thankful for the communities that have supported us all these years.

🎂✨ Cake Kits for a Cause! ✨🎂

In honor of Liberty Health celebrating 150 years of caring for others, residents and staff from The Commons at Brightmore of Wilmington came together to assemble over 50 birthday cake kits for the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina.

Each kit included cake mix, frosting and a soda to replace the eggs and oil—plus fun birthday extras like candles, banners, plates and noisemakers to make each celebration extra special! 🥳

What a wonderful way to celebrate Liberty’s 150th anniversary while spreading joy and helping local families celebrate their own special occasions! 💙

🌟 Employee Spotlight 🌟

Wright Williams is an Information Systems Service Desk Support Specialist who assists all divisions of Liberty Health.

After graduating from UNCW in 2008, Wright began his career with the Best Buy Geek Squad. Nearly three years ago, he joined Liberty Health and has been keeping our technology running smoothly ever since.

“I can fix a computer in any industry,” Wright says, “but what I love about Liberty is that when I fix a computer for a nurse working with a resident, it makes me feel like I’m making a difference.”

Wright helps ensure Liberty’s systems stay reliable, secure and efficient so our caregivers can focus on what matters most: providing excellent care. Wright says much of his team’s work is preventive and behind the scenes. “If everything seems to be working smoothly, that’s usually because IS has already done a lot of invisible work to make it happen.”

Wright loves sharing a good tech tip: “Press Windows + V instead of Ctrl + V to paste. It turns on the extended clipboard in Windows and saves the last 20 items you’ve copied—super handy!”
