Joseph Jones is celebrating five years with The Barclay at Southpark!

“For the past five years, it has been both an honor and a joy to serve as the 3rd shift Concierge Service Coordinator at The Barclay at SouthPark. As the longest-tenured associate at this location, my favorite part of my role is the meaningful relationships I’ve built with our residents, team members and staff.

Working overnight gives me a unique opportunity to connect with residents across multiple generations, each with their own stories, wisdom and perspectives. Whether they grew up in a different region or different culture, they share experiences that broaden my understanding of the world. Many of them tell me and my coworkers they feel safe when I am on duty, and when I am away for vacation, they worry I may have left--a reminder of the trust we’ve built.

I also value the relationships I’ve formed with my coworkers. We openly share our cultural backgrounds, generational viewpoints and even the different ways men and women experience life and work. These conversations help us understand one another more deeply and remind us what humanity looks like when people truly listen and learn from each other.

From day one, Barclay management has supported me in doing what I do best: building relationships, creating a welcoming environment and being a steady, dependable presence for residents, staff and coworkers. It is a privilege to serve a community that values connection, respect and the richness that comes from our differences.”

Samirah Murray, our Wellness Assistant at Brightmore of South Charlotte, received this month’s Liberty Star Award!

She stepped in to teach all wellness classes while the Wellness Director was away and continues to lead classes whenever needed. Samirah always volunteers to help at the front desk during receptionist lunches and frequently assists with set‑up and breakdown in the multi‑purpose room. She is the true meaning of a team player—always assisting, always available, always willing and always with a smile on her face!

Please join us in welcoming Casey Caudill as our newest Liberty Care Coordinator serving the Winston‑Salem area. Casey brings a strong passion for patient‑centered care and a holistic approach to supporting individuals and families.

Casey shared, “With over 20 years of experience across nearly every corner of the medical field, I’ve learned that the most effective care happens when we look at the whole person, not just what is written on their charts.”

Outside of work she is happily married and is a proud parent to ten children, eight girls and two boys, ranging in age from 3 to 26.

Elizabethtown Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center took time to recognize several outstanding team members who make a meaningful impact every day. We celebrated Social Worker Lauren Meares, Maintenance Director Jackie Smith and Administrator Lori Barrow for their dedication and leadership.

Lauren consistently goes above and beyond, playing a key role in coordinating care and always offering a helping hand. Jackie is a resourceful team player whose knowledge and sense of humor keep things running smoothly and spirits high. Lori is a cornerstone of leadership in our building, leading with steady compassion and patience—setting an example we are grateful for each day.

Staff enjoyed a potluck luncheon and time together to reflect on how valuable every team member is in delivering excellent care. The celebration also included cake for our March birthdays, making the day even more special. 💙✨
