As I was deciding what to do for further education after high school, I knew I wanted to do something to give back. Helping others has always been in my nature. When I was introduced to the science behind massage therapy I knew it was meant to be. I carry massage as a tool to help others. Being able to heal and give positive energy through massage is something I’m constantly grateful for. Holistic healing is a passion of mine; the impact I’ve seen it make is outstanding. My specialties include deep tissue, sports massage, and facilitating healing massage for injuries.

Introducing one of our newest Team Members, Jennifer!

I have been a massage therapist for over 10 years and a Reiki Master for almost 9 years. Before becoming a LMBT, I was a health educator and public health research analyst. My background includes a BS in Community Health Education from UNCW, where I focused on health promotion and advocacy. I achieved my Reiki Master and Teacher designation through Duke Integrative Medicine and Lisa Powers.

My background has given me a deep understanding of how the mind, body, and bioenergetic field can work together to create optimal health. I believe that every massage can be a therapeutic massage, and pain-free ways can be found for almost any issue. Every massage I offer is an individualized healing experience, which may include elements of Reiki, Chinese Cupping, Quantum Touch, Manual Lymphatic Drainage, deep tissue, passive stretching, hot stones, and aromatherapy.

When not at Shine On, I can be found sleeping outdoors, sitting with my cat on my lap, nerding out over health research articles, balancing chakras, assembling LEGOs, and listening to punk music.
