What if gratitude is not about feeling thankful… but about noticing what is still here?

Even on heavy days, there are small moments that exist alongside the hard
a breath
a pause
a person who shows up
a moment of quiet

Gratitude does not erase what you are carrying. It simply helps create a little more space within it.

If it feels okay today, take a moment to notice one small thing.

If you are looking for support, we are here.

Ketamine assisted therapy is not just about the medication
It is about the space it creates

For some, it can help quiet the noise enough to see things differently
To process what has felt stuck
To access thoughts and emotions in a new way

You do not have to figure it out alone
If you are curious whether this could be a fit, we are here to talk it through with you

Finding time for therapy can feel hard when your days are already full. If you need support after work hours, we are here to make care more accessible and realistic for your life.

Between work, school, family, and everything else on your plate, it can seem impossible to fit in one more thing. That is why we offer available appointments in the evening.
Therapy should work with your schedule, not against it.

If you have been thinking about starting, this might be your sign that there is space for you.

What does my insurance cover?
Does my insurance cover therapy?

These are some of the most common questions we hear and they are important ones.

The short answer is that most insurance plans do offer mental health benefits, including therapy. Coverage can vary depending on your specific plan. Some plans cover a set number of sessions. Others may require a copay or deductible.

If you are unsure, you are not alone. Insurance can feel confusing and overwhelming. That is why our team is here to help you understand your benefits and walk you through the process.

You deserve support without added stress. If you are considering therapy and wondering about coverage, reach out to us and we can help you take the next step.

April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month.

This can be a tender and heavy topic. For many, it brings up memories, emotions, or experiences that are not always easy to talk about.

At LMV Counseling, we believe survivors. We want you to know:
you are not alone
your story matters
and your pace matters

Healing does not have to look a certain way. It can be slow. It can be quiet. It can begin whenever you are ready.

If this month feels difficult, consider what support might look like for you. That could be reaching out, talking to someone you trust, or simply allowing yourself space.

If you are looking for support, we are here.

Join LMV Counseling for an upcoming webinar where we’ll gently explore how trauma responses—such as fight, flight, freeze, and fawn—can be activated by everyday stressors in ways you may not always recognize.

Together, we’ll look at how factors like gender roles and cultural background can shape the ways we cope, respond, and protect ourselves. You’ll also learn how to identify signs of dormant or unresolved trauma that may be quietly influencing your emotional and physical well-being.

Most importantly, this space is designed to offer practical, compassionate strategies you can begin using right away to support your mental health with greater awareness and care.

Whether you’re new to these concepts or looking to deepen your understanding, you’re welcome here.

Save your spot and join us—we’d love to have you.

How often do you think people should go to therapy?

Some people come every week to keep momentum. Others come every other week or just when they feel they need extra support.

There’s really no one right answer. The most important thing is finding a pace that feels right for you. And that can change over time.

For many clients, therapy is not open ended. Our average course of treatment is about 10 to 11 sessions, focused on meaningful progress and real relief.

What feels like the right pace for you?

Trauma therapy isn’t one-size-fits-all.

Trauma can affect the brain, body, emotions, and nervous system, which is why there are different treatment approaches designed to support healing in different ways.

In this carousel, we’re highlighting several evidence-based trauma treatments and what they’re commonly used for. Some approaches focus on processing memories, while others focus on building coping skills or regulating the nervous system.

Trauma treatment is not about reliving the past, it’s about helping the brain and body respond differently so reminders of the trauma no longer feel overwhelming.

A trauma-informed therapist helps determine which approach (or combination of approaches) best fits your needs, history, and goals.

Education is often the first step toward healing.

Is telehealth better than in-person therapy?

The short answer: it depends on you.
For some people, telehealth feels easier, no commute, more flexibility, and the comfort of being in your own space. For others, coming into the office feels grounding and helps them focus more deeply.

What matters most isn’t the format, it’s the connection, the consistency, and having a therapist you feel safe with.

At LMV Counseling, we offer both because healing doesn’t look the same for everyone. 💙

Before you act on the impulse, pause for a moment.

Sometimes the urge to react, fix, avoid, or push through comes on fast. Before doing anything, try taking one slow, deep breath. Just one.

Then gently check in with yourself. What is behind this impulse? Stress? Fear? Overwhelm? A need for rest or reassurance?

You do not have to judge it or change it right away. Noticing is enough. Breathing creates space. And in that space, you get more choice.
