Our Brookdale Bakers welcomed autumn with a delicious no-bake dessert. This creation, Autumn Caramel Apple Lush Pie, was so quick and easy to make. We made it in the morning and enjoyed it for an afternoon snack. The residents all agreed it was a tasty way to welcome fall.

Andrea and Lynda were on hand to help us celebrate Assisted Living Week. They provided a build-your-own sundae bar, which was enjoyed by our staff and residents. Then, they hosted a special musical Bingo. There were lots of smiles, singing, dancing and more. We appreciate both of them for helping make Assisted Living Week special for our caregivers and our residents.

It was a finger-licking delicious celebration of Labor Day as our residents enjoyed sticky ribs with all the fixings. Family members were in attendance, and the weather was perfect for some al fresco dining. This wonderful meal was followed by an afternoon starting with singing songs with the word September or references to the harvest moon. Lots of reminiscing and laughter were sprinkled into the songs. It was a fantastic way to kick off the month.

We had a great time this week when Andrea and Jenna stopped by. They came to help us celebrate our residents with birthdays this month. Not only did they bring cake and punch, but they also played a game of musical Bingo with us and brought along some really nice prizes. Our residents had the best time looking for the song titles to the music being played, but also singing and dancing along with the music. We appreciate Andrea and Jenna and are grateful to have them as part of our community.

The weather has been hot and rainy, but we have been enjoying some great programs. This week, the Brookdale Bakers made a delicious and easy ice cream cake. Lots of fun was had while making it, but even more fun came when it was time to eat it.
