Our residents were thrilled to pick blueberries from a bush they have planted in our courtyard. Plenty of smiles and laughter ensued while several of our ladies picked them. Our Dining Services Manager was more than happy to take them and whip us up some fresh blueberry muffins for a sweet afternoon treat.

We went on an afternoon getaway to one of our favorite coffee shops. Once there, everyone decided that it was too hot for coffee, so we all enjoyed a refreshing iced hibiscus tea instead.

Our residents all jumped onboard to assembly line some summer treats. Of course, a few marshmallows and chocolate squares may have gone missing during assembly, but the event was a big hit with everyone.

Our community really gets into our B-Fit programs. It is not unusual for our care partners, med techs, and even family members to join in during one of these programs. The residents always enjoy when this happens, so you can imagine the smiles on everyone's faces as our Executive Director, Lisa, jumped into the Activity Room to join us for a morning program of strength training.

It was raining outside, but we were celebrating summer inside. Monica, was on hand to host a summer beach party. Residents enjoyed a frozen summer mocktail and watermelon balls while listening to the Beach Boys and Jimmy Buffet. There was lots of dancing and some playing volleyball, and our community had a great time!

We are so happy to have T.J. Dunn join our community. T.J. leads a Bible Study in our community on the second Tuesday of each month. Our residents made him feel welcome, and many were very engaged in the conversations that came out of this study. Support and encouragement of our residents' spiritual lives is just another way that we enrich the lives of our residents.

One of the specific intentions of the B-Fit program is to strengthen and maintain muscle tone. Our residents meet twice-weekly for strength training, utilizing stretch bands and hand weights. This 20-minute program is done with high energy music followed by a discussion of the benefits of keeping our muscles strong as we age. Our residents are enjoying it and we occasionally have some family members who participate with us at times.
