Doctors Jonathan Crane and Christopher Cook, along with Physician Assistants Patricia Hood and Carla Rohena, proudly re-open their doors to new and established patients. Atlantic Dermatolog, PA, welcomes all in need of dermatology care and advice.
Dr. Crane grew up on Long Island, NY. After graduating from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine, he did a one-year rotating internship followed by three years of dermatology training. Dr. Crane then opened his office in Wilmington, NC, in 1994. He passed his board certification exam the same year and is now a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and a fellow of the American Osteopathic College of Dermatology. Dr. Crane has published well over 100 articles in the field of dermatology and has been principal investigator in over 20 studies. Dr. Crane has pioneered innovative laser treatment. He is the program director for the Sampson Regional Medical Center Dermatology residency program, and he practices general, surgical, laser and cosmetic dermatology for Atlantic Dermatology of Wilmington, North Carolina.

Christopher Cook, DO, FAAD, FAOCD

Dr. Cook is a board-certified dermatologist who enjoys combining his love of patient care with his passion for science. This combination enables him to provide patients with the kind of information they need to have the best outcome possible. At Atlantic Dermatology, Dr. Cook treats patients who have a wide variety of skin conditions and diseases, including inflammatory conditions, infections, aging-related issues, skin cancer and autoimmune disorders. Dr. Cook also has additional training in Mohs surgery – the most precise and technical method to remove skin cancer from the body – and practices this type of surgery at the Clinton office. Drawn to the science behind excellent skin care, Dr. Cook completed a one-year melanoma research fellowship at Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, FL, before beginning his dermatology residency. The results from his team’s studies were presented at the 2011 International Melanoma Congress and published in the Journal of Pigment Cell and Melanoma Research. Dr. Cook has also studied new treatment options for seborrheic keratosis (noncancerous growths); he was the principal investigator on a new photodynamic therapy option for the treatment of this disease. In addition, Dr. Cook enjoys giving back to his profession and teaches dermatology residents from Sampson Regional Medical Center.
